3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 KingpinIPA (841) - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 20, 2008Got this one for a steal for only $3.99. Original price was 9.99. Dark, golden reddish brown color. Smell of hops, caramel, spice, fruit, malt, bread, nuts, alcohol and brown sugar. Tastes the same and it was a nice go to sleep beer.
4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 bhiner41 (153) - La Grange, Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Taste like Oakes dead guy. Meaning the finish is a little drier and there is almost a tannin taste. Definitely sweet and malty up front. Smells like an old bar or fraternity basement after a party, musty with a hint of malt and hops. Great beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 junon (327) - Honolulu, Hawaii, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Hops not over powering. Full body mouth feel. Tiny bit of sweet to marry with the bitter. Well crafted beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Evolutionary (175) - Ohio, USA - JUN 7, 2013
Tap at rusty bucket. Thick head that lingers and musty nose. Toffee an sweetness are a bit much but it's balanced. Not a great thirst quencher since its so sweet. Not doubly good.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 maxwelldeux (2368) - Raleigh, North Carolina, USA - JUN 5, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear darker amber color with a moderate off-white head on it. Nose is definitely more malt forward on this, with some subtle caramel tones coming through. Taste is fairly strong with some strong toasting (almost burnt) elements coming through. Not bad, but not my sort of thing.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dresden (533) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - MAY 10, 2013
Clear copper with an inch of white head. Aroma is caramel and bread. Taste is heavily bread yeast with very sweet caramel malt and a kick of booze. Not bad.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 OKplus (560) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 10, 2013
2009 Vintage
A - Hazy copper amber. 2 fingers of tan head that clings to the side of the glass.
S - Loads of fruity malt, plums, red grapes, doughy yeast, sweet oranges, maple syrup, oak wood.
T - Sweet toasted toffee malt, caramelized brown sugar, soft buttery flavor, fruity, woody hop resin coats the tongue.
M - Viscous, creamy carbonation, very nice texture.
This has aged very well. The hops are still present and really help compliment the finish. Very smooth flavors and great mouthfeel.

Poured from a 750ml, 2008 bottle. The aroma is dominated by sweet alcohol and malts. The flavor is fruity alcohol, toffee, chocolate, oxidation. There aware noticeable signs of oxidation, but still a tasty beer.

750 ml bottle. Amber orange color topped by.a small beige head that leaves a leopard-like spotted clinging lace. Aroma is sweet butterscotch malt. Flavorful toasted malt palate is ripe with peppery hops and complex spicy nuances. Nicely balanced with a chewy, long dry finish.
