3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 JCB (3801) - Durham, North Carolina, USA - JUN 11, 2008UPDATED: OCT 11, 2012 On tap at Tyler’s, Durham. Pours similar to its diminutive relative, with a pleasant orange body, decent carbonation and a lively frothy head. What I’ve always enjoyed about Dead Guy (which I see I haven’t even rated!) is its ability to offer up the finer qualities of a rich amber and combine it with a notable hop profile. But this amped up version is too boozy for me, washing out the flavor more or less altogether. The fruitiness is more detectable and is enjoyable in some sense. But I found this to be too one dimensional: sticky, boozy, a bit bland.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 dresden (519) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - MAY 10, 2013
Clear copper with an inch of white head. Aroma is caramel and bread. Taste is heavily bread yeast with very sweet caramel malt and a kick of booze. Not bad.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20 OKplus (355) - Oklahoma, USA - MAY 10, 2013
2009 Vintage
A - Hazy copper amber. 2 fingers of tan head that clings to the side of the glass.
S - Loads of fruity malt, plums, red grapes, doughy yeast, sweet oranges, maple syrup, oak wood.
T - Sweet toasted toffee malt, caramelized brown sugar, soft buttery flavor, fruity, woody hop resin coats the tongue.
M - Viscous, creamy carbonation, very nice texture.
This has aged very well. The hops are still present and really help compliment the finish. Very smooth flavors and great mouthfeel.

Poured from a 750ml, 2008 bottle. The aroma is dominated by sweet alcohol and malts. The flavor is fruity alcohol, toffee, chocolate, oxidation. There aware noticeable signs of oxidation, but still a tasty beer.

Pours copperish with some beige fizz. Musty grainy aroma with the familiar rouge yeast notes. Very earthy grains and a kind of barleywineish with a modest sweetness.
