3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Had this beer on draft and was a bit unsure before hand. Haven’t really enjoyed dead guy for a the past couple years, due to the overhaul of craft beer. Plesantly suprised. A nose full of malt followed by a mouth of malt to finish off sweet, ending in hops. Didn’t expect the hops at the end at all. Nice to see

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
This is the XS version in the big dark bottle, vintaged 2013 that I have been recommended to put here. It’s a beautiful looking beer with its lush orange-amber colour and a thick cream coloured head. The aromas are of lush stonefruit predominantly: apricots and peaches galore with pears, nectarine and almonds. Thick and viscous with pinches of bitterness, I could have drunk more of this were it not for the fact it made me fall into blissful slumber.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a finger of head on a dark straw colored body.
The aroma is mild grain and honey.
The taste is caramel and honey sweetness with a mild dry bitterness to balance it out.
The texture is crisp but thicker.

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
I'm a fan of IPAs and I really sharp, sometimes bitter, high alcohol brews. This selection was very tasty.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
XS Dead Guy: The nose is honey, toasted nuts, some booze. Clear burnt orange, fully fading head. Some sweetness, pretty well balanced. Medium-full bodied, a little hot.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
"big doughey, dopplebock nose, with some added hops. this beer is classified generically as a strong ale...more like a slightly hoppy dopplebock. complex taste, especially as it warms, but something is just a touch off. Very good, but there are excellent db’s (or strong ales) out there for much less. Glad we tried it though. Pours with a nice frothy head. Mahagony color, and a complex palate."

4.6 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Limited release in a 22oz bottle. Stronger than most ales. Slightly sweet, not too hopsy. Goes down good. Seems unfiltered or like homemade.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Rated from notes taken on 11 Jul 2011 -- This is a beer that Rogue doubled, and did it right. This is regular Dead Guy, but for big boys, maltier with a little more booziness.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at the SF taproom. It pours a clear auburn color with an off white head. The aroma has some distinct sweet tea notes with caramel and cherry like maltiness. Touches of herbal hops. The flavor is the same. Fruity tea with caramel and a floral bitterness. Medium bodied. Pretty nice.
