Dark brown body with a nice tan head. Aroma is chocolate malt with slight hops. Flavor is big chocolate with some roasted coffee. Slight hops and a burnt aftertaste that is not unpleasant. Mouthfeel is a little thinner than what I like in a porter. Overall, solid beer if not their strongest offering.

I rate beers I think significantly better than average, simple as that. I am not into showing off through bloviating. :)

Rated on 10-29-2011 (Bottle) This beer has a medium frothy tan head with a long retention, opaque dark brown body, very little carbonation observed, and spotty amounts of lacing. The aroma is malt, chocolate, coffee, and pine hops. The flavor is moderately bitter, citrus, pine hops, roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. The mouthfeel is smooth and this is a light-medium bodied beer. This beer is very quaffable with a very good flavor. It is worth trying and a beer I would drink again.

Bottle at market in panama. Dark brown black pour. Off white head. Choclate aroma. Malty cocoa taste. Bitter for a porter. Not bad

Decent smell. A little too bitter for me for a mocha porter. Starts full but thins quickly.

My 850th rating! Bomber from Sonoma Cellars. Pours an opaque black with a chocolate milk head leaving streaks of lace. Aroma has cocoa and molasses and roasted malts. Taste is of bakers chocolate, coffee and some caramel and some licorice. Roasty and sweetly smooth. Medium to full bodied. Finishes bitter and sweet in a nice blend. Faint alcohol presence. Solid and tasty.

Poured from a 750ml bottle. The aroma is roasted malts, milk chocolate, soft bready malts. The flavor is sweetened coffee, a mocha(makes sense), vanilla, a lingering bitterness. Creamy mouth feel that lingers. A rich chocolaty beer. Very nice.

A: A bitter semisweet chocolate. Maybe a little bit of sweet lactose note? A: Looks fine. Head dissipates quickly. Dark brown. T: ok on the taste. Coffee and chocolate is weak on palate. Bitterness is dull and off. Not bad not great. P: Dull sort of boring. Nothing special. Overall this beer is alright.. There are slight hints of chocolate and coffee but really it is more of a bitter mess. It’s ok....

2/12/2011: Rogue Double Mocha Porter... Aroma: Dark and unsweetened chocolate with hints of rich epsresso hiding in the background; hoppiness is present as well, but not necessarily completely in-focus. Appearance: Deep, dark chocolate brown color that’s mostly opaque; small brown head that slowly dwindles to a thin, but dense tan-colored crown. Flavor: Dry and roasty -almost ashy - maltiness and ground coffee beans followed by dark chocolate laced with a mouthfull of hoppiness (citrus, herbal-almost minty at times); espresso roast coffee and associated bitterness in the oily finish and aftertaste; slightly warming overall, but the alcohol is nearly completely tucked behind the other large flavors. Palate: Sticky on the lips; full-bodied, but smooth going down; oily and slick. Overall: Good, but somewhat disappointing... Guess I was just expecting something different; maybe the hops are just too dominate in this beer; the coffee is evident but the chocolate - the other ingredient in "mocha" - is hard to find, possibly overrun by the hops; I strongly prefer the Rogue Double Chocolate Stout.

Growler fill (draught) from Party Town in Florence, KY. Rating #309 for this beer.

Bottle. The pour is dark with a nice caramel head. The aroma is strong and a good blend of malt and chocolate. The taste is a little dry and bitter. Very faint coffee. Was hoping for more. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
