2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
I did not enjoy this one nearly as much as the Amber, but this one has less IBUs and a much maltier taste that is very one dimensional and not very complex. Dark brown in the coloring, with a quickly dissolving soda like head, and no lacing with a taste that is just so so...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This has all the characteristics of a Rogue beer. Same types of malts, hops, and yeast flavors, just in different proportions. Fine if ubiquitous Rogue; thin. It's good, but not great.

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20
Am i the only one that thought this sucked??? maybe i got a bad bottle or something else was clouting my tastes...but this was the worst rogue ale ive had. Thin, watery, tepid at best. Bitterness was all over but it was like drinking the water everyone extinguishes their cigarettes out in. pretty color!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A nice burgundy/blood red body with a thick, tan head. Some lacing.
A pungent, floral hop aroma dominates. Alcohol and malt come through at the end of the aroma.
Hoppy. Complex malt profile with a super hop bite. Very distinctive malt taste in there. It has to be the Munich.
Big beer. Big palate.

3.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2004 Chez Mittenstein - June 2003: Dull brown color. Very sweet aroma with hints of wood. The flavor? Bitter Bitter Bitter. And I'm not big on the Uber-Bitter, so... :/
Rogue Nation, SF, March 2004: (tap) Barely noticible hoppy aroma. Beautiful ruddy brown color with a lingering head. Malty attack that opens up into a subtle hoppyness. Slightly after the fact, the bitter hits. Much better on tap than from the bottle.

Reddish hue. A very enjoyable amber ale with some malts up front and a slightly hoppy finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
tap-maproom, Chicago, IL-7/16/03-Aroma is earthy-very English. Appearance is deep ruby red with little head, but good carbonation. Flavor was balanced-malt and hops are very detectable, but not overbearing. A mix of citrus and earthy hop t ones. Good session brew!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
It's all about the malt, isn't it? Balance in droves and a decent hop bite, to be sure, but the malt bill here is delectable, deep to barely (by my palate) plumbable depths. Caramel, oh so slightly sweet, a little lemon. Aroma is of earth and subdued. A bit thin, but still complex - somehow though it all seems a tad artificial (a feeeling I've had about many Rogue ales) - Try the fantastic Ithaca or Z Street Rollstone for meatier, authentic ambers (a weird style isn't it?).
