Red body, small tan head receding, typical Rogue PNW hop nose. Pretty malty with hops always present. Quality brew, but after a while, all the Rogues seem to taste a lot alike.

Slight hop aroma. Body is a nice balance of hops and malt. Leaves a nice hop flavor in the aftertaste. A good session brew.

Nice deep red, with slight-medium head. Aroma is hoppy and taste is hoppy but I was actually expecting bore hops- At 44 IBU it is bitter but more is always better- Overall it is good- but the brutal bitter is more to my liking.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a deep, reddish copper color with a big, off white head that lingers. Hoppy aroma that smells very piney, almost like gin. The beer leaves heavy lacing on the sides of the glass. Medium bodied, with a good malty flavor that battles with the hops, but the hops win out in the end with a slighlty bitter finish. Once again, Rogue redefines what constitutes a certain style of ale. Great beer.

UPDATED: NOV 23, 2007 Sparkling red brown. Lots of earthy malt in the nose.
Decent lasting hops in the finish

I prefer more of a head on my red ale than what this brew offered. Just a little too hoppy and not quite malty enough to be a decent red. Okay.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2003 dark amber with a nice light tan head, slight 'IPAish' aroma, super hoppy but well balanced with malts...in fact very malty indeed & creamy... good shit with a sweet 'kung fu' finish...NOTE (2 days after the initial rate) I was pretty drunk at the time of this rate and have no clue what a 'kung fu' finish is, but I'll leave it there for the hell of it

This deep dark red copper brew has a full bodies malt taste, with a slight taste if fruit finished of with a hoppy taste and after taste.
