Reddish copper in color, a roasty malt flavor with a hoppy sprucy finish. Saint Rogue Red is made with two-row Harrington, Klages and Munich malts, along with Hugh Baird 30-37, 13-17 Carastan, and Crystal 70-80 malts (44.4% speciality grains .39 lbs grain per bottle); Chinook and Centennial hops.

Chestnut color with a small dense head of beige bubbles. Heavy malt and mild citrus aroma. Heavy malt (dark earth caramel) backed by hops that offset the sweetness and leaves a spicy finish.

Decent, but light hop aroma. Some sweet caramel, with grainy flavor too. Decent finish.

OK bought in the 22 oz bomber with a rather cool looking "saint" on the screen printed label. This beer certainlly surprised me in how it looked..deep dark red almost brown with a nice sized tan coloured head that shrunk to leave great lacing. Great smell of lightly roasted and chocolate style malts..smell the hopping also. nice tasteing beer..nice sweet chocolaty taste to begin then a slight bitterness..theres a sort of "zingy" after taste which I like also. Nice and smooth on the tongue..nice after taste . Very easy drinking beer..a good summer beer in my opinion

Large foamy off-white head and clear red body. Nice malt and spice nose. Malty amber flavor followed with significant hops in the finish. Strong pine and spice presence here. A good amber... but still just an amber.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy dark amber. Aroma lightly malty (toasted bread, caramel), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with a note of toffee. Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly astringent.

Delicate, sweet chocolate leaves rooted in agreeable C-hop vitality...Delicious berry amalgation with the intermittent salutation of a yogurt undercurrent...A pleasant session where well-balanced, lemongrassy, citrusy hops incessantly make you long for more...

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2005 Another nice beer from Rogue. Aroma contains some herbal notes and caramel. Appearance is a reddish brown. Flavor is very hoppy with some dried fruit and cherries. Most amber ales I’ve had are watery and dull, but this one is a big ol’ hopfest. Good deal!

Not bad at all. Easy to drink quickly. Smooth. Dark redish color. Flavor is a little weaker than I'd expected, but good. Overall I'd say I prefer the American Amber over this, but it's not a bad brew at all. I'll buy it again.

Easily one of the better amber ales I've had. Not as hoppy as most of their others, tastes smooth and almost sweet.
