Bottle: The guys at Rogue really know how to come up with good beers. Fruity, red berries with a nice lingering bitterness. You´ll enjoy this one from start to finish. Long live Fuku and Rogue!

12 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy deep reddish copper color with a 1 finger fairly dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, pine, and floral/toasted earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus hop and dark/bready malt sweetness; with solid strength. Taste of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, light toffee, and floral/toasted earthiness. Fair amount of earthy pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, orange peel, caramel, toast, biscuit, floral, grass, light pine, light toffee, and floral/toast earthiness on the finish for a bit. Nice balance and solid robustness of citrus hop and dark/bready malt sweetness; with a nice malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a smooth, crisp, and lightly sticky/bready mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a nice and pleasant amber ale. Good balance of citrus hop and dark/bready malt sweetness; and very smooth and crisp to drink. A nicely enjoyable offering.

Rogue seems to have half assed brews and more sophisticated ones…this falls slightly to the sophisticated side of the spectrum. Hearsay about the business practices and management aside, this is a decent brew if you ignore the finish. But, in the end, it does leave a bad taste in your mouth…but wait…the after-aftertaste turns back to the good side. Damn you Rogue, get your shit together.

330ml bottle. Hazy red color. Small size, off-white head, stays. Sweet, hops, red currant, toffee in aroma. Roast, juicy, caramel, red currant flesh in taste. Dry and slick mouthfeel at the same time. Weird one. In a good way.

nice rusty red colour with a light body. thick and foamy head. quite a lot of carbonation with many small bubbles. Aroma is rich and malty, with caramel and bisquits and some hoppy tones of pine and grapefruit. the body is light yet a bit viscous on the mouth with flavours of resin, sweet bread, bisquits and a hint of roasted malts. then the end is all about hops, with a nice bitterness which slowly take the place of the malts flavour, leaving some grassy and fruity aftertones which just make you willing for another sip. a very interesting beer, easy drinkable and tasty. the only (definitely small) downside in my opinion is the carbonation, which is a bit too much.

St. Rogue Red has a very thick, frothy, off-white head, a hazy, rust-red appearance, noticeable gray chunks floating about, lots of bubble streams, and heavy lacing left on the sides of the glass. The aroma is sharp, sweet, bready, and of hop resin. Taste is of sweet bread crust, mild bitterness, and full malt. Mouthfeel is medium, slick, and soft. St. Rogue Red finishes semi-dry, easy going, and highly drinkable. Overall, this is really nice! RJT

Ins Glas ergießt sich ein orangegoldenes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch hopfig, fruchtig, würzig. Geschmack malzig, fruchtig herb, leicht würzig.

Keg at Earl of Essex, Islington, London. A red/amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, malty aroma. Tastes similar, hoppy, malty, slightly fruity, caramel. Nice one.
