2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
22floz/650ml bottle into a wine glass. Served cold.
Aroma: Kind of sweet. Purple "grape" medicine.
Appearance: Hazy bright yellow body, soda-like dissipating white head.
Taste: Wheat toast on arrival, then a sweet medicinal "grape" flavor.
Palate: Quite sticky, light/medium body. Finish is medium-long and sweet.
Overall: My first mead, so I don’t have anything to compare it to as far as mead goes. It was interesting. I don’t know that I’d seek it out as a go-to drink. Would recommend it though.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle, shared with my wife. Extremely effervescent, soda-ish carbonation that forms no head; body is hazy pale cornflower yellow. Aroma is highly floral, yeasty, and sweet. The palate is remarkably thin and airy, very seltzer-like, with not-too-sweet flavours of honey and jasmine flower with chalky notes. The finish is nonexistent-- there is no trace of any flavour left behind, very much like a Perrier in mouthfeel and finish. Odd, but it matched our 32-degree sunny day.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Rogue, San Francisco. A lightly unclear one, with some white bubbles on top. Lots of flowers in the aroma, citrusy notes too. Not much else, but what’s there is pleasant. Thin on the palate, dry and still. Flowers dominates the flavor too. Nice, but maybe a bit too much. Anyway, I like it. 130805

Just okay, for a Mead. It’s Rogue though, so I know they will get the recipe perfect very soon.

No. No. No. No. No. Not even a "nice try. Tastes like that old God-awful candy called "Fizzies". If you want a honey-based beverage, try Fullers Honey Dew. Poured outside, as I didn’t want to insult the drain.
