2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Draught at REAL A Gastropub, Honolulu, HI
as Chatoe Rogue 19 Colonies Mead With Jasmine
Blond color with compact and persistent head. Some aroma of honey. Light mouthfeel, dry, with some ordinary honey flavor, and a mild flowery touch from the jasmine; it also has a moderate bitterness.
As pleasant as a wheat beer, in other words not interesting as mead.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Rogue, San Francisco. A lightly unclear one, with some white bubbles on top. Lots of flowers in the aroma, citrusy notes too. Not much else, but whatís there is pleasant. Thin on the palate, dry and still. Flowers dominates the flavor too. Nice, but maybe a bit too much. Anyway, I like it. 130805

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bomber from Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours like a cider - lightly gold and a very transient white head. Aroma is sort of honey flower. Light body. Flavor is fairly thin - not your typical syrupy mead. Itís mildly honey with touches of jasmin. For me itís not sweet - bitter in a way rather different from most beers. Maybe itís the tea. Quite different.

1.8 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 6/20
A bottle of mead that gushes? Okay... Hazy golden pour with a pronounced fizz. Smells of white grape, sugar, alcohol, and grape Otter Pops. Quite medicinal, too. The flavor is terribly medicinal and syrupy. Sugar, white grape juice, and alcohol. Some tea, straw, and cardboard. Fizzy, watery, and tart.

A lightly hazed yellow with a thin dissipating white head. In aroma, loads of clover honey, orange peels, nice and smooth. In mouth, a nice mead with sweet fruity honey, dry and bubbly, a bit of wax. On tap at Barcade NJ, Dec. 31 2012.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle @ home picked up at Wilburís Fort Collins. Pours a bit hazy yellow appearance with a thin off-white head. Big green apple, sweet honey, floral, nectar aroma. Bubbly, soda-like mouth feel. Strangely a little bitter, fizzy, sweet honey, green apple flavor. Carbonation is pretty high and makes this one pretty hard to drink.

1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
Bomber from Caponeís. Pours very pale gold champagne colored with fizzy white head that laces poorly, a lot of carbonation, and a loud head that says to me, "Meads are a reminder of a more violent time". Whatever. This one looks like a white wine. Nose is honey, grains, and fusel alcohol. Tastes light on the palate, extremely medicinal, with mild honey, a lot of alcohol, and mild white winey notes. If you wanna know what band-aid smell or taste means as applied to beer/mead, you can use this as an example. This one is horrid.
