A bit confused by the near perfect scores for this beer. Like most Rogue Ales, this is a bit too malty to be a true hop monster. The aroma leans strongly towards malt with earthy and subtle flowery and citrus hop notes as well. The flavor is a bit of a mess. For starters the mouthfeel is soft and a bit watery. There’s no cohesion amongst the crop of hops with each seemingly vying for my palates attention. It’s simply too many flavors and they don’t blend. In the end I was left with a fairly dry bitter finish with a some lemon. A very good example of why you can’t just throw all the hops you’ve got into a batch...

Slightly cloud ruddy orange with vigorous carbonation. Strong aromas of peach, nutty pine, fruit licorice. Flavor is butter, tangy pine resin, dried citrus peel, elderberry, minerals, sea breeze. Slightly oily. Decent.

Nice hoppy blend. Good citrus bite, rich caramalt, apricot, piney hops, sharp bitter finish. Nice extra hoppy ipa, dangerously smooth for such an abv :)

Solid IPA. Only criticism would be that there appears to be a lot going on flavor-wise so a feels not so well integrated. Otherwise pleasant. Very resinous. Good.

This double IPA has a lot of layers, very citric, fruity, pine, resin, like it has Amarillo, Citra, Simcoe, etc. for a complex double IPA it is very smooth, not sharp at all, the balance is incredible, will try it again, definitively.

Bottle: Great, strong, fresh, intense aroma. Taste is full, complex, herbal, piney, resin, all the Hop Goodness is there. Suprisigly light / médium body. Food Pairing: Sharp Cheddar.

22 oz bottle. Misty orange brown with a bone head. Nose is toffee, pineapple, orange, pink grapefruit and pine. Slightly sticky medium body with a carb tickle and lingering resin. Taste is melon, pine, strawberry, grass, citrus pith and peel. Multilayers of hop flavors mostly green and weedy but good.

Caramel and light fruit notes. Artificial sweetness, but good hop bitterness and nice carbonation balance it out. Toasted bread and citrus peel finish.

Cloudy amber color with a medium white head. Ripe citrus aroma. Taste is grapefruit, raisins, some toffee, and of course a nice hoppiness. Light to medium body. Balanced, bitter sweet ending. Excellent.

GBBF Day 3. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, few pale cream colour bubbles not forming a head. Good fine carbonation. Nice condition. Caramel malts dominate the start. Spicy orange hops on the backend. Dry finish and a spicy linger. Not bad but slightly too malt dominant.
