We made this braggot with our own marionberries, hops, barley, and honey. Situated across from 40 acres of Rogue hops, 119 Colonies of bees were carefully kept, fed, and smoked and the honey was uncapped, extracted, filtered and finally infused into a refreshing Marionberry Braggot.

This is not a mead, itís a braggot, which is a beer/mead hybrid, this particular one has the addition of fruit. In case anyone is wondering, Marionberries are a type of blackberry. 750 ml. bottle from La Bota Liquor in Vista. Pours reddish/orange/brown with a slight head that is quickly gone, consistent for the style. Aroma is of grapes and sweet malt. Seems to get better as it warms in the glass. Overall this is a bit too bitter for me, seems to dominate the flavor and mouthfeel. Probably half the amount of hops would have been sufficient. Also has a strong alcohol effect, warming the tongue, the 11.42% abv is apparent. Tastes like a homebrew experiment gone wrong. At least it still tastes like beer, nice try. Will not revisit.

A nice fruit beer, on the lambic side of things, but not too intense. Deep red color with a tan head. Smells and tastes of berries, with a lambic finish. Tasted at the BevMo Holiday Beer Fest.

Aroma of malts, honey, and fruit notes. Pours a dark amb with a short lived off-white head - no lacing. The taste has a light sweetness to it - fruit, dark berries, honey, malts, and a hint of soft hop bitterness in the finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Overall, an interesting and unusually flavorfull mead.

Pours brownish purple with a small tan head. Smells sweet and of dark fruits. Taste is sweet, fruity, and tart. Full-bodied with a slick texture and soft mouth-carbonation, Rogue Farms Marionberry Braggot finishes with a lingering tartness.

Appearance: muddy water, with a purple hue. Ugly. Aroma : grape, merlot?, Taste: Pomegranate, blueberry, acetone. Not sure what marionberries are (i expected a crackhead mayor) , but it seems like they are a sour, earthy, dark fruit. Feel: flat, dry. I love Rogue, and this bottle is very colorful, but this beer is not sitting well with me. Interesting flavors, but it doesnít work for me.

Pours deep blush into a tulip. Off-white head recedes to pool surface. Sweet honey and cranberry aromas. Medium bodied with sweet honey and caramel upfront turning to warming dark berries in the medium length bitter finish.

Pours a dark purple brown, short head. No lace. Nose is nice with marionberr/ grape, light sweet honey notes, some fig with very slight leathery tobacco character, some breadyness, nose really picks up well with marionberry/ breadyness when you swirl it in a snifter. Also has a mild sweet fruit wine quality. Taste is very balanced between malt honey and fruit in this, has hints of wine like alcohol but it is smooth strong ale with marionberry flavor and some vanilla honey even a dry woody slight chocolate/toffee oak character. Finishes surprisingly with a woody character and some fruit tannin. Very nice. Not much of any alcohol heat and pretty easy to drink. As a beer this confuses you but leaves you thinking you had something of a really good barley wine.

Tap at iBrew. Dark brown with orange. Flavors of berry, chocolate, honey. Same as the nose. Sweet. Ok. Bit boozy.
