We made this braggot with our own marionberries, hops, barley, and honey. Situated across from 40 acres of Rogue hops, 119 Colonies of bees were carefully kept, fed, and smoked and the honey was uncapped, extracted, filtered and finally infused into a refreshing Marionberry Braggot.

Pours a ruby marionberry red with very little head. Nose is faint yet dry and pungent in the deep marionberry region with hints of smoked honey. Flavors are vinous up front, almost winey, with elements of dry and sour marionberry throughout. Hops singe a bit on the tongue. A touch of sweetness ends this brew which ends with a nice honey bitter hop note. Good stuff. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

This poured a pinkish yellow with a white head. Aroma was of marionberries and.honey. Flavor was pretty much the dame, very very sweet, but nothing offensive.

Bottle. Berry, malt and herbal aroma. Dark brown-purple. Lightly sweet berry/honey and lightly bitter herbal flavor. On the dry side.

Hints of marionberry, honey, sweet ale. Seemed a bit too sweet, maybe a touch more hops would help. Hats off though for the use of the ingredients from rogue farms

Darker reddish brown colored, moderate head, decent lace/retention. Aroma is berry (dare I say... marionberry) with notes of darker fruit, caramel, alcohol, honey if you really search. Medium to full body, fairly sweet, berry flavor dominates with some alcohol. Itís kind of good but thereís like a billion things here for what Iím tasting as a largely berry flavored ale. EDIT: I would not label this as a mead or even close but whatever.

Beer Bloggers Conference - San Diego - Interesting beverage. Lots of flavors going on. I am not a huge mead fan.

Bottle: Putple/brown with a thin beige head. Dark berry, light honey aroma. Sweet, candy-berry flavour with a wine-like tartness and alcohol tone. Blueberry as it warms...subtle, boozy aspect... A nice little burn..almost smoky. A really nice sipper at room temp.. Strong, yet subtle.

Sampled with Ashley. Definitely got the the job done ;) Beautiful dark brown purplish pour with small offwhite head. Lots of rich sweet flavor notes, fig, brown sugar, toffee, caramel, tobacco, leather, raspberries and blueberries. The honey was extremely faint and I donít know I would have picked it out had I not known this was a braggot. Hides the abv exceptionally well for nearly 12%, only drinks like about 8%. Deceptively smooth sipper. Iíd drink again.

750 ml bottle into snifter; no bottle dating, but was released recently. Pours hazy nearly opaque dark brown color with a 1 finger dense light khaki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Slight spotty lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big blackberry, cherry, red grape, raisin, plum, honey, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with good complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, honey, and fruit notes; with great strength. Taste of tart blackberry, red grape, raisin, plum, cherry, honey, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness. Light earthy/herbal bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tart blackberry, red grape, raisin, plum, cherry, honey, molasses, caramel, brown sugar, brown bread, herbal, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, honey, and fruit flavors; with a great sweetness/tartness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth and lightly dry/slick mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warming present after the finish. Overall this is an excellent fruited braggot style. All around great complexity and balance of dark/bready malt, honey, and fruit flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle. Deep and intensely colored, almost purple. Full-bodied head. The aroma hints at some amazing fruit inside. Iím perhaps a bit tilted by my love for big, alcohol-heavy beers that are properly augmented with berries or orchard fruit ... this fits that mold. Big and heavy with some strong malt and an obvious gravity. The berries are well interlaced into this big brew, and I like it. (#5631, 8/26/2014)

Both bitter and sweet, wonderful nose, very little honey flavor in the beer. Slightly hot on the alcohol flavor but not overly so. This could probably use a little bit more aging for ~6/9 months minimum.
