UPDATED: JAN 11, 2012 Draft, Ørsted Ølbar: Unclear amber with white head. Malty and quite complex aroma with notes of caramel, green hops and exotic fruits. Some nice spicey elements as well - I detect notes of cinnamon and licorice. Taste is medium sweet and herbal hoppy bitter with a long dry heavy bitter finish. I like this a lot.

Orange amber color, medium head with decent retention. Nice full hop aroma, citrusy with a malt hanging in the aroma also. Med/heavy bitter, hint of sweetness up front. Wonderfull palate feel, med body, softer carbonation, creamy texture, slight oily. Smooth hop flavor with a touch of caramal like malt. Long Bitter finish. Wonderful beer.

Draft. A hazy dark amber beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, and fruity hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, hops, straw, lemons, as well as some lemon peal, making it very bitter.

Poured from a bomber to a sampler glass at a local tasting benefit at 20West Liquors in Lombard, IL.. Showed a brownish amber color, with abundant, creamy, off white/light tan head foam, and some lasting, waves of lacing. The nose was a hint of house yeast, caramel sweetness, with a combo of citrus and fruit, and a little resin mixed in. Malt content was okay in both the aroma and flavor, hop bitterness was on the low side, the mouthfeel had a light creaminess to it, but the body seemed a little thin to me.

Flavor starts slightly sweet, moderately acidic and lightly bitter, then finishes moderately to heavily bitter. Palate is medium, watery with a lively carbonation. The malt profile stands right out in the aroma and flavor in this excellent American Pale Ale.
