Formerly Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale.

The newest addition to the Chatoe Rogue series is Pumpkin Patch Ale, a beer made using fresh pumpkins grown in a patch that borders Rogue’s 42 acre hop yard. The pumpkins are picked, loaded into Rogue’s farm truck, driven immediately 77 miles to our brewery in Newport, quickly roasted, and pitched into the brew kettle to create a batch of Pumpkin Patch Ale.

Carmel hinted cardimon and aftificial pumpkin aroma. Dark amber in color with a light tan head.. cold cinnamon and caridimon start with the pumpkin coming in at the end. F-ing tasty. But the first few sips were missing of most hat flavor. Por Que, Maria?

Pours cloudy brown orange with a thin off white head. Strong clove notes in the nose with cinnamon. More earthly tasting than spiced, tastes of pumpkin with some soft fruit and a nutmeg aftertaste. One if the better pumpkin ales I’ve had

Poured from tap to glass. Orange with nice white head. Aroma is primarily pumpkin spice with some slight sugar/light caramel. Taste is smooth sweetness followed by a nice CO2 bite. Defined pumpkin initially and spices throughout. Overall, not my favorite pumkin beer as it lends the flavoring too heavily on the spicing instead of relying on the mellow fruit to provide a creamy sweetness...but not my least favorite, either. Pretty average throughout.

Poured one finger of head on a clear, dark straw colored body. The aroma is rich pumpkin and spice. The taste is malty with a nice pumpkin flavor. The texture is crisp with moderate carbonation. Pumpkin ales are not my favorite, but this one is tolerable.

Bomber. More brown than orange, clear, and a small head with very little lacing. Very good aroma, nicely spiced. Good taste, not as much spice as some others. A little more bitter than others at the end of the palate, but the pumpkin is definitely present. I think it’s not my favorite, but that may be more of an indictment of pumpkin itself instead of this particular beer. I just realized I like "spicy" pumpkin beers more than basic ones like this. Still, pretty good.

Pours a clear dark amber with a thick tan head. Aroma has mild spices and a vegetal pumpkin note. Flavor follows suit and adds a slight hint of vanilla na dsome earthy hop notes. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with a dry earthy/spicy finish. Not bad but boring and one dimensional.

Pours with a nice tan head and a beautiful deep brown/red color. Can't see your fingers on the other side of the glass. The pumpkin and spices are just right. Not too little not too much. Very balanced. Not cheap but worth the price. Something I would look forward to every October ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle - 750mL crowned. Ruby amber with a tall, frothy tan head. Aroma is pumpkin pie, roasted pumpkin, soft spice and soft caramel. Taste is pumpkin pie with spices, caramel notes, roasted pumpkin, light vanilla notes and toasted malt. Body is medium with a soft, creamy carbonation. Ends with more pumpkin pie, spices, roasted pumpkin, soft malt, toasted grains and light caramel. Nice!

I’m giving this a perfect 10 for aroma, as of this time I’ve not given such a high aroma score to any beer. Reason? It smells exactly like a fucking pumpkin pie. If you set a pint of this next to an actual pumpkin pie, your nose wouldn’t be able to tell the difference. It’s an incredibly earthly brew with a luscious taste. Unfortunately, the taste is somewhat overbearing. It’s a good beer to try once, but not such a good one to return to—unless it’s at your yearly Hallowe’en or Thanksgiving table. Still, I give it a decently high rating for the uniqueness of its taste. You won’t find many brews coming this close to pumpkin.
