Formerly Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale.

The newest addition to the Chatoe Rogue series is Pumpkin Patch Ale, a beer made using fresh pumpkins grown in a patch that borders Rogue’s 42 acre hop yard. The pumpkins are picked, loaded into Rogue’s farm truck, driven immediately 77 miles to our brewery in Newport, quickly roasted, and pitched into the brew kettle to create a batch of Pumpkin Patch Ale.

Pours dark amber. Nose of pumpkin (duh). Aroma of spice (nutmeg?) and pumpkin. Nice beer, very unusual, but I like it.

Sampled at an esbls. Light haze in a brown beer. A big off white head. Pumpkin and nutmeg in the aroma. A thin feel and light flavor. Pumpkin and spices. Ginger and light roasted flavors. I hoped there would be more substance to this.

Second to last bottle out of a case purchased at a rogue pub garage sale in Eugene Oregon, Pours a reddish brown color with a off white head with light lacing. Smells of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and allspice. Tastes the same as it smells with a balanced flavor. Mouthfeel is between medium and light and chewy with decent carbonation. Overall this is a great pumpkin ale. Rogue mixes all the ingredients together very well. My mom doesn’t like beer that much but she likes this if that says anything.

Pours a nice dark orange color, little white head. Aroma is great, a combination of spices (cinnamon), pumpkin, caramel. Can really taste pumpkin flavors, a bit of bitterness, very nice tasting beer, really enjoyed it...

Nice surprise here from Rogue. May not need to write them off completely. Dark amber orangish pour with a tight off white head. Spicy aroma with notes of gourd, cinnamon, earthy malts, caramel and small bits of vanilla. Flavors were similar. Lightly spiced, slightly sweet, pumpkins and caramel. Tingly carbonation with lighter mouthfeel. This was light but drank nicely like a rich harvest ale should. Nice.

Bottle [750ml]. Pours a deep, slightly hazy amber-gold with an average size semi-lasting frothy off-white head. Nice aroma of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, more spices, caramel malt and some earthy notes. Flavour is pumpkiney along with those aforementioned spices, caramel malt and a mild bitter finish. Medium bodied. A solid Pumpkin beer.
