Formerly Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale.

The newest addition to the Chatoe Rogue series is Pumpkin Patch Ale, a beer made using fresh pumpkins grown in a patch that borders Rogue’s 42 acre hop yard. The pumpkins are picked, loaded into Rogue’s farm truck, driven immediately 77 miles to our brewery in Newport, quickly roasted, and pitched into the brew kettle to create a batch of Pumpkin Patch Ale.

Ale that pours half head. The color is deep, rich, hazy amber. The aroma is delicious pumpkin meat and spice. the flavor is not as good as the aroma, but similar. It tastes more spicy than pumpkiny and that’s a shame. It’s watery and dirty on the palate. oops.

Med mahogany color. Nutmeg, cinammon, pumpkin malty nose. Off sweet, lots of nutmeg in the mouth. Never cloying or sweet, but pumpkin beers will never be the choosen style for me.

2011 bottle. Deep hazy copper color with a thin head. Great spicy nose with pumpkin pie, cinnamon, nutmeg.  Fewer spices come through on the taste, mainly nutmeg and pumpkin. Smooth palate. A nicely spiced ale without overpowering the drinker.

Bottle from either Belmont or Jungle Jim’s, I can’t remember. Fairly nice pumpkin beer overall. Nice balance of flavors from sweet to spicy with some nice malt too. Rather pumpkin-pie-esque overall. Very pleasant.

Great orange creamsickle colored bottle from Capone’s. Pours chill hazy deep copper with big 3-finger off-white head. Nose is caramel malt, rich pumpkin and pumpkin spice. Tastes somewhat dry, with the pumpkin flavor being solid but subdued somewhat, with the cardamom coming in later, and some caramel malt notes. I got some squashy flavor in this, too. Pretty good.

Aromas of pumpkin, herbs, and caramel. Brownish auburn with a thin foam. Pumpkin flavor is dominate followed by oats, caramel, bread and nutty notes. Overall, it’s fairly basic yet, promotes drinkability. I’d give it a B- rating.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Super spicy nose consisting of allspice, nutmeg, cinnamon and ginger. Malty and gingery flavor with some cinnamon before a dry finish.

This pumpkin ale poured a cloudy, deep amber colour with a nice, medium creamy style, tan coloured head. Scents include very little all spice, public washroom, Doritos, eggs and little pumpkin. First sip was creamy with flavours of toast, pumkin, allspice, small amount of clove flavour and a light almost orange tangerine flavour. Finish is smooth and creamy with a light pumkin flavour lingering.

650 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a cloudy dark orange/brown with average-sized tan head. Aroma of pumpkin and typical pumpkin pie spices. Flavour is pumpkin, allspice and nutmeg with a slight roastiness. Solid pumpkin beer.

Pours a burnt orange, or orange-copper color with a quickly dissipating head. Aroma is overwhelming pumpkin and spice. Pumpkin hits, slight bitterness then spices ride into a slight alcohol presence. A very well built pumpkin, balance and nothing overwhelming in the taste.
