COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Formerly Chatoe Rogue Pumpkin Patch Ale.

The newest addition to the Chatoe Rogue series is Pumpkin Patch Ale, a beer made using fresh pumpkins grown in a patch that borders Rogue’s 42 acre hop yard. The pumpkins are picked, loaded into Rogue’s farm truck, driven immediately 77 miles to our brewery in Newport, quickly roasted, and pitched into the brew kettle to create a batch of Pumpkin Patch Ale.

Pours brown...aroma of pumpking mild cinnamon nutmeg and ginger. Taste is crrisp....not sugary like some pumpkin ales...bitter twinge at the end finishes dry good beer and quite drinkable

750 ml bottle painted orange. Pours a dark reddish brown. The aroma has pumpkins and spices. The taste is a letdown from the well balanced pumkin/spice aroma. The pumpkin is subdued and the spices are there but it seems to hide what it is-a pumpkin beer. I hate to say it but for $9.69 for a 750 ml I could have got a 6 pack of a better pumpkin beer than this. Scroll past.

11/20/12. 22oz bomber from Grassroots. Deep amber/brown pour with a nice khaki head that fades to a ring and doesn’t lace much. Relatively stock spiced pumpkin beer aroma with a surprising dose of roasted squash aroma that is generally missing from these type of beers. I’m not saying I’m a fan, really, but it’s there. The flavor is much the same - spice and squash. Props to them for that, but I just don’t think I’ll ever love pumpkin brews anymore.

The pour is a deep dark orange with a thin white head that doesn’t leave lacing. The aroma is subtly spicey. The taste is very clean, smooth, & just enough flavor to make it memorable. The mouthfeel is slightly watery but also a little creamy. It goes down easy. I was just hoping for a little bit more from rogue. Decent.

The aroma is pumpkin like with spice, caramel malt, and paper. The appearance is amber with a small head. The taste is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall interesting but not overly impressive.

A dimly standard beer, there is a slight taste of the pumpkin. Its very clean beer, little substance but tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours dark brown with a thin beige head. Aroma is pumpkin-forward but with only the most subtle hints of spice (and I might just be pretending it’s there) and a sort of darkness to it. Like earth, raisin, and dirt. Flavor is earthy and toasty as well with a subtle pumpkin flavor factoring in. No spice really. Finishes with the pumpkin fading to the background and toast, roast and earth taking the front. Medium bodied and creamy mouthfeel, I will be forever grateful that Rogue can make a drinkable beer feel substantial. It’s good stuff, and I admire the subtlety but sorry, at this price point, I want freakin’ fireworks with a pumpkin beer (that won’t affect the rating, but I had to say it).

Very delicious beer. You can really taste all the ingredients from the pumpkin to the spices. One of the better Chatoe Rogues.

This is one of the better pumpkin beers I’ve had. VERY rich in pumpkin flavor. Where many pumpkin beers highlight their spice cocktails, especially those heavy in nutmeg and cloves, this is pumpkin heavy. Very drinkable, very attractive beer. Gift from Nick.

Cloudy amber with a nice head a little funkiness on the aroma. Nice balance of spice to pumpkin and possibly vanilla with a spicy bitter finish.
