2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tap at Happy Gnome. Murky amber pour with a white head. Pretty bland and thin overall - a little rye in here but otherwise kind of empty. Not bad, just not interesting.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Caramel brown in color... Aroma of fruity caramel... Flavor is light and thin, more than expected with notes of smoke and light spice on the palate... Slightly breast and grainy, minimal hops... Kind of disappointing but sessionable....

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass; no bottle date, but a late 2012 release. Pours lightly hazy deep reddish copper color with a 1-2 finger dense cream colored head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big spicy rye, caramel, toast, brown bread, smoke, light roast, pepper, clove, light citrus, floral, and roasted earthiness. Nice, pleasant, and unique aromas with good balance and complexity of malt notes with moderate hops; with solid strength. Taste of spicy rye, toast, brown bread, caramel, smoke, light roast, light clove, pepper, floral, pine, light citrus, and herbal earthiness. Lingering notes of rye, caramel, toast, brown bread, light roast, pepper, floral, pine, light citrus, and herbal earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance of flavors with good malt complexity and robustness; nice hop/malt flavor balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a smooth and lightly creamy mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a very good Roggenbier! Nice balance and complexity of malt flavors with moderate hops; and very smooth to drink. Never had this style before, but this was very enjoyable.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bomber. Poured medium reddish-amber with a creamy, well-retained beige head. The aroma picked up sweet smoked malts, caramel, and molasses with accents of earth and toasted rye.. sweet overall and well-balanced. The flavor found mostly sweet smoked malts and caramel at the core, with spicy rye, grainy earth, and tart malty notes around.. more tacky and bitter as it warmed up, with a lot of sharp smoke character and a bit of fruit. Medium-bodied with smooth, rolling carbonation on the palate.. great feel until it got messy at the end.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Beautiful hazy amber with a red-orange hue and a thick, lasting beige head that leaves sheets and sheets of lace all the way down the glass. Initial aroma is actually a little stinky, then more bready grain and lightly spicy citrus. The palate showcases the spiciness of rye malt perhaps better than any other rye beer I’ve had; really lovely malt profile, smooth, with just the faintest smokiness, and a light kiss of hops. Paired perfectly with our spicy dinner of pho.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
this beer had a hazy dark brown-ruby pour and made a large foamy light tan colored head that receded to a cover and sticky ring , the glass had a center of about medium flowing bubbles, it left nice rings of lacing on the glass, the bottom of the bottle had a thin, loose layer of sediment that flowed when the bottle was tipped,
this beer had aromas of rye, grain, some spice, toasted malt, dark bread, caramel, some earth notes, and there was faint smoke and anise in the background, there was a burnt aroma as this beer warmed up, maybe from too much rye, or just the mixture of what was added to this beer or maybe it was something else,
it had flavors of rye, toasted malt, dark bread, some spice and clove, some sweetness, there was some citrus fruit that was burnt bruised apple and bean or something else, it was hard for me to describe, the finish had a mild bitterness with some spice,
the mouth feel was a little less than medium and had a big creamy feel on the palate that I think is from the weizen yeast,
a beer that has a rye influence and rye spice noticed in the aroma and flavor, lots of creamy, fizzy, spongee fizzy on the palate, the flavors come off as a odd mix and it was hard to really enjoy this drink, I winced a little with every drink, I think they mixed too many things in this beer, I enjoy Rye beers but this does not get in there with the crowd of better brews.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
A nice dark amber body with an off white head. Aroma had a nice mix of smoked malts and a nice blend of rye malts and some hop bitterness. Flavor seemed to be a lighter version of the aroma. Mild smoke, which almost reminded me of liquid smoke. Rye malts were somewhat present, hop bitterness was nice. Smooth finish and easy to drink. Kind of light on the palate.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
11 ounce goblet - $6.50 at Taco Mac (Prado) in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Appearance: Dispensed a muddled, opaque brown body with a fourth of an inch of fine, dusty white suds.
Smell: This isn’t exactly what I had anticipated. Burning rubber, molten plastic notes. All in all, it’s highly displeasing and begs the question: "they really let this monstrosity leave the brewery?"
Taste: Roasted cigarette butts, a heavily phenolic smoke character giving a flavor of burnt rubber doorstops, lacquered bandaids, and a growing hint of six bucks and fifty cents absolutely wasted.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Appallingly bad.

2.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Dark brown pour with no head. Unspectacular in every way. A heap of zest and spice mingle with some heavy toffee biscuit. Unbalanced and uncoordinated. Not very good at all

Bottle from Carlisle celebrations. This is average! Dark brown pour with a dull zesty aroma. Chewy doughy taste. Hint of rye spices. Average stuff
