3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
65 cl bottle @ Timo A.
Pours clear dark copper color with a small head. Quite weird on the nose, some dark berries, rye, caramel malts, mild grain and faint hops. Flavor is fruity and there’s a lot of carbonation, gooseberries, malts, rye, some toffee and more malts. Very lively carbonated palate, feels quite light considering the abv. Somewhat unique. Lacks something essential though.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A light brown appearance with tan two finger head. Smell is hop, malt, yeast, rye, a general earthiness. Taste is subdued and clever. Slight hop approach, counteracted by the grains. Slightly toasted.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. 4/18/14. Pours dark amber brown with a fluffy off-white head. Aroma is Earthy, lightly fruity, grains, rye, wood, bready, toffee, subtle aroma of soured stone fruit. Taste is a mish-mash of grains, nutty, earthy, bitter herbs; finish of slight bitterness and taste of wood and grain. Taste is watery and less than impressive. Light lacing throughout. Watery mouth feel. Medium-low carbonation. This beer is sadly unimpressive and not remarkably interesting. An unsuccessful experiment.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Reviewed from notes.
The appearance was a brown colored body with a lighter hazier looking reddishness around the edges, two finger white foamy head that dies and leaves some foamy clingy lacing in its wake.
The smell had spicy rye, smokey, malty, fruity yeasty sort of hops, intricate in a way but different than other beers I’ve had in my life.
The taste is spicy yeasty flavoring that dominates but lets in the rye and the fruit combine and coming through in a smoky way, smoky yeasty aftertaste, slightly dry yet fruity and some light rye in the finish.
The palate is about a medium, sessionable - maybe. Carbonation is good to me.
Overall, I say good for the most part and worthy of more pours.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This beer pours dark brown / amber and is almost a gusher. Very cool lacing. In the aroma I get rye, brewers grain, and a little wood. The flavor is also rye. It is not spicy but more of rye grain. A bit of spice is in the hops, however. Just a hint of chocolate. That wood and a little dark fruit and then some earth. This was not a perfect beer but it had a lot of really fun stuff going on. So much complexity for the style made it a lot of fun to drink.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was a shared tasting with Strykzone on Facebook Chat as we share so many beers together this way. . Poured a cloudy opaque amber-brown with a moderate beige head and good lacing. Nose is rye, wood, and smoke, with a little plum. Light to medium body. Flavor is rye forward but there is a lot of complexity here with an earthy background, smoke, ripe fruit, and a lot of graininess. Chocolate finally appears. The finish is quite dry wit floral hops and low bitterness. This is a complex beer and at first the unusual combination of flavors was a bit of a surprise, but as I got closer to the end it became quite enjoyable as the fruit and chocolate pulled even with the rye and a little spice appears..

It was actually very good. Too bad I only had a tiny taster glass. I would have loved to savor some more.
