3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bomber from Hayduke that we had together via facebook chat. This beer pours dark brown / amber and is almost a gusher. Very cool lacing. In the aroma I get rye, brewers grain, and a little wood. The flavor is also rye. It is not spicy but more of rye grain. A bit of spice is in the hops, however. Just a hint of chocolate. That wood and a little dark fruit and then some earth. This was not a perfect beer but it had a lot of really fun stuff going on. So much complexity for the style made it a lot of fun to drink.

I thought this was pretty nice. A beautiful brown with a nice head, the flavor is a little different but surprisingly smooth.

0.9 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 1/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 1/20
11 ounce goblet - $6.50 at Taco Mac (Prado) in Sandy Springs, Georgia.
Appearance: Dispensed a muddled, opaque brown body with a fourth of an inch of fine, dusty white suds.
Smell: This isnít exactly what I had anticipated. Burning rubber, molten plastic notes. All in all, itís highly displeasing and begs the question: "they really let this monstrosity leave the brewery?"
Taste: Roasted cigarette butts, a heavily phenolic smoke character giving a flavor of burnt rubber doorstops, lacquered bandaids, and a growing hint of six bucks and fifty cents absolutely wasted.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-plus carbonation.
Overall: Appallingly bad.

3.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: JAN 14, 2013 The aroma is probably the strangest I have smelled itís like asphalt, rubber, toasted malt, and grassy hops. The appearance is amber brown with a medium head. The taste is like the aroma with a nice chocolate finish. The palate is smooth. Overall one of the strangest beers I have had but not bad.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours deep mahogany into an English pint. Tan head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing. Sourdough and roasted nut aromas. Medium bodied with spicy pumpernickel upfront turning to sourdough before the earthy bitter finish.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a murky brown amber with a creamy foamy white head, sticky white lace. After it breathes for an hour or so, you can get more than harsh dark rye grain. Also some bran, juicy citrus, light pine, even some pineapple and light woody Flemish Red-like tartness. What a different aroma after an hour of "decanting." Flavor is less harsh for sure, and has taken on a nitro-like creamy mouthfeel, but itís still just rye malt and some uninteresting bittering hops that do nothing for me. Starts creamy but ends bitter. Slightly harsh. Overall not the best rye-centered beer Iíve tasted but Iím still glad I didnít pour it after my initial strongly negative reaction.

3.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Soft copper brown pour with one finger of dirty white head. Ruby highlights. Super spicy flavor, hops are there. Citrusy and raw fruit notes coming through. Nose is awful, smells like something gone bad.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
650ml bomber pours brown in color with a finger and a half of off-white head that leaves some nice lacing on the glass as it settles. Aroma is caramel and grains. Taste is a spicy hop bitterness with an underlying malty sweetness. Light to medium body with nice carbonation. A well done brew that I recommend to others.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled with kristen at Wintergreen. Pours near clear dark brown with mohogany highlights and fair tan foam head. Lightly spicy earthy tones. Very mellow caramel, and slight sagey hop bitterness. The rye also has a sweetness that is very nice. Really delicious actually.
