I’m only taking points off because of a strange astringincy at cellar temp. A wild and accurate farmhouse ale. Spices are subdued, different flavors coming at different temperatures. Ginger at first, pepper later. Full bodied and refreshing at the same time. Interesting brew.

Not one of my favorites from Rogue. I have tried 5 different Rogue Ale in this setting and this is the worst one. The smell made it difficult to enjoy. The high carbonated and the citrus make it decent Saison, but would not look forward to ordering again.

Very spritzy carbonation and mouthfeel. Champagne-like texture and nose. Bright orange peel and citrus aromatics. Orange and citrus flavor with a spicy/peppery finish. I found this saison to be light, simple, uncomplicated, and unsophisticated...but very drinkable and fun.

Pours a murky orange color with a thin white head and no head retention or lacing. Smells spicey with some yogurt, and some barnyard and sour elements. Tastes spicey with some peppery notes, hoppy elements and nice mellow bitterness, with some ginger orangey notes being the most pronounced. Palate is a bit empty but otherwise a good beer.

Bottle shared with HogTownHarry & Dave B. -- courtesy of HogTownHarry. Pours a slightly hazy bubbly golden-orange with an average size white head. Aroma of grain, yeast, herbs and spices -- but mostly grain. It smells pretty bland and a little "off". Flavour is yeasty and has some citrus and spices in the background but they can’t compete with the unpleasant upfront harshness and astringence. This is way too carbonated and quite unbalanced. Definitely the worst Rogue beer I’ve had and one I’ll never have again.

Bottle (650ml). Shared with blankboy and Dave B, my bottle. Poured hazy red-tinged amber, decent foamy lasting beige head. Fairly nasty barnyard herb and yeast aroma, dead flowers - hope it tastes better than it smells. Taste is really harsh, funky, herbal - but the ginger is strong and saves it from total nastiness - acidic, overly fizzy, harsh - nossir, don’t like it.

22oz bottle. Pours an orange hue...Marshmello head dies after a short show...lively carbonation...Aromas of earth, flower petals, pepper...a very weird mix...rustic? a bit of rubber or plastic...certainly nothing pleasant. Drinks with more of the same, and a long lingering bitterness that seems to be alcoholic hot. Something of a chewy earthiness to this, but not in a good way. I just don’t like this. I guess my first impression was right..."Rogue...a saison? why?" the bottle says a "delightfully pleasant Belgian-style saison" Well, I’m not delighted and I can’t think of a Belgian Saison that tastes like this...aargh...the most remarkable thing about this beer is the yeast slurry caked into the bottom of the bottle...its gotta be a good 2oz of solid yeast down there!

Lots of foam, Pale yellow, smells a little like malt liquor. SMells like corn. Tastes like saison though. Flavor is lemon zest, lime, some grapefruit, some apple. Lots of carbonation, lots of fizz but is thin underneath.
