Gusher, man... oozed out of the bottle and took forever to get a decent amount into the glass. Aroma of banana, coriander, orange peel, wheat, and a whole lotta raw yeast... Flavors of banana, clove, orange, coriander, must, and over-ripe light fruit... a little more pleasant than the aroma, but not so hot for the style. Carbonation was over the top. Yeast and alcohol astringency at the finish, but a nice peppery spice presence came through, too. Not very good overall. TheBeerLover (1019), DC Metro Area, USA

The flavors are muddled, and unlike the spice character of a beer like Saison Du Paipax, the spice character of this beer seem disjointed, and do not work as well as it should. Pours to a hazy, burt orange color, with a thick, creamy white head, and a vibrant carbonation. The nose on this beer has a melange of spice, but it is muddle, and confusing. Some spicy aromas, marry with some peppery aroma, and some citrus aroma, but they seem to be fighting each other. The palate is soft and full, with some pale and sweet malty flavor, with a back drop of muddled spice flavor. This beer finishes with more sweet malt and spicy flavor up front, then ends with more muddled spice that lingers. Too much going on this beer. Aromas and flavor are raw and unpolished. This beer has lots of aroma and flavor, but is all over the place. Its tasty, but not a good example of saison. A funky beer worth trying, but not Rogue’s best effort. turbo (1254), Arizona, USA

Lightly sweet aroma of cloves, coriander and some orange zest. Kind of faint though. Flavor is kind of dry and sweet with some orange and coriander in it. A cross between a run of the mill saison and a pale lager. Nothing that impressive. [[800th Rating]] redlem (1155), Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 12, 2006 Initial pour has a large head with a slightly hazy orange/annatto color, subsequent pours resulted in a darker more murky color. Aroma of pepper, orange peel, yeast, rising dough, and ginger. Taste not as noticable as the aroma, mainly pepper with a very dry finish. I would of liked more of the Saaz in aroma and taste. hatchy (32), USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 5, 2006 Cloudy yellow-orange presence with a very heavy pale yellow head that thickly laces the glass as it slowly recedes. The orange and ginger comes through in the aroma and in the taste. it leaves a pleasant bit of bitterness in it’s aftertaste. wheninhell (486), louisville, Kentucky, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 1, 2006 the first and as far as i know only beer of this style that i have had. from a 22oz. bottle pours very clear dark golden with a white head. this beer has an interesting sweet fruity aroma with white grapes and yeast dominating. the flavor is a bit disappointing. sweet malt combined with a bit of yeast and quite a bit of spice make for a decent front but these flavors trail off leaving a bitter finish with nothing much to back it up.
