11/3/12. On tap at Kickback’s. Deep black pour with a big, tan head. Huge roast and bitterness in the aroma and flavor with some chocolate in there, and a good dose of ashiness. Very lighty fruitiness and a hint of acidic tartness. Not bad.

On tap at Bailey’s Taproom, pours black with a red tinge and a small beige head. Aroma of sour malts, metallic notes and slight dark fruits. Flavour of sour, metallic fruits and dark roasted malts. Surprisingly well-constructed and balanced. Not generally of these Belgian stouts, but this one is very well-crafted. Solid stuff.

Cool bottle, signed and handwritten bottle count. Thanks to Mike for saving me some! Pours a totally black color. A big nose of char and roasted malts. This tastes like a big rich stout with smoke and light burnt woody flavors, some sweet Belgian-like esters. Very good.

UPDATED: NOV 26, 2012 Roasty nose, a little phenols but fairly clean for a Belgian. Deep brown/black, tan head. Flavor: bready malt with chocolate and roast, light spicy phenols, a little smoke, some nutty and biscuity notes. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Draft at Novare Res. Pours a deep umber color with a finger of mocha foam. On the nose its burnt malt and light touches of dark chocolate. Decent carbonation with a medium body... brings out a lot of nothing. Pretty straight forward decent beer but nothing to exciting as far as Belgian style stouts go.
