11/3/12. On tap at Kickback’s. Deep black pour with a big, tan head. Huge roast and bitterness in the aroma and flavor with some chocolate in there, and a good dose of ashiness. Very lighty fruitiness and a hint of acidic tartness. Not bad.

Review #300! 750ml swingtop bottle hand numbered and signed by John Maier bottle #689/1515 Pours a pitch black color with a thick fluffy khaki head tha leaves great lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast, roasted malt and dark chocolate. Tastes of all the same things in the smell and tastes better as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium and creamy with good carbonation and a semi dry finish. I really enjoyed this beer. It’s one of the best Rogue beers I’ve had. Its very well balanced for a stout. Glad I was able to get my hands on this cool looking limited bottle of this tasty brew.

On tap at Summits. Pours a midnight black with creamy tan head. Cream lacing coats the glass all the way to the end. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, and dark chocolate. Tastes just like it smells roasted malts, coffee grinds, dark chocolate, and has a bit of an earthy dirt taste. Creamy and velvety smooth. A little thin though. Some dark fruits on the backbone. Bitter earthy finish.
