3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft on 15th at Summit’s Atlanta. Muddy brown with a moderate head. Sweet caramelly malt aroma, with some dark fruits in there and some grassy citrus hops. Similar malty flavors with the grassy citrus hops, and it seemed a bit less fruity than the aroma. Clean finish. Decent beer - it was good, but at the same time, it wasn’t a wow for me.

$20 / Pint @ Chuck’s 85th Hop Shop, Ballard, Seattle. 9% ABV. Pale color. Fruity Belgian Plum Raisin notes. Rich and tasty but a little too much. Clean end. Nice aromatics. Exotic but averagely satisfying. (2.75 / 5.0)

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at Blind Tiger. Strange brown/orange/amber with small white head. Aroma is raisin dried fruit, rum boozy, darker jewish rye bread, hints of molasses. Taste is bitter burnt bread boozy going huge bitter finish that lingers on tongue. Hints of chocolate in taste, big boozy in finish. Kinda strange and abrasive.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Blind Tiger. A little weird. Pours clear and brown with a sturdy tan head. Aroma gives off plenty of sweet malts and some pine hops. In the flavor is where things got a little strange. Sweet, with syrup and caramel, and boozy, and then there was some hop bitterness hanging around the outskirts, staring in unsettlingly. Also some roastiness - who invited him? Alcohol is not hidden, stumbling around like a drunk acquaintance. (Awkward.) Lacked cohesiveness. Had some interesting elements, but overall everything just didn’t come together.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Location: Tap at Blind Tiger as Issaquah Frosty Frog, 5/9/10
Aroma: The aroma of this one is syrupy, malty, with some booze, and some pine hops
Appearance: It has a clear orange-brown pour
Flavor: Taste is relatively malty with booze and pine
Palate: The booze in this one feel a bit harsh, and it has a long finish
It is not great, but I would call it pretty solid. On the other hand, it just didn’t really work that well. Mediocre to decent, that’s about the way I’d describe it.
Earlier Rating: 5/9/2010 Total Score: 3.1
BT - syrupy, malty, some booze, pine; clear orange-brown pour, flavor malty with booze and pine, bit harsh, long finish, not great, but solid

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Draft, Exbeerience. Dark brown pour with a small dense tan head. Has a big, sweet aroma of molasses, raisins, dark rum, a little roastiness. The flavor is loaded with more sticky molasses, raisins, rum, plus some nuttiness and a hint of coffee. Has a fairly sticky, moderately heavy body with a harsh boozy finish. A real dessert beer.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
draft at bottleworks. crystal, but as dark an amber as is imaginable. dense, creamy, but very short lived tan head that falls away to a slim rim, leaving plenty of lacing. sharp, boozy, somewhat musty nose. creamy medium body with plenty of lively carb. rich black toast, earth, and fresh cut wood on the mid palate. long earthy resinous finish that combines with the vodka twang to make for a pretty abrasive finish. the middle of this beer is ok, but the beginning and end are trouble.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dark reddish brown pour with no head. The aroma is very strongly of dark fruit, sugar, brown sugar, basic rum like notes. The flavor is also strongly alcoholic with lots of fermented ripe fruits, raisins, some bittering hops, and more strong vinous fruit. Body is full, lots of booze, pretty damn strong. Not really that interesting, but strong if thats what you are down with.
