In honor of the University of Oregon Ducks playing in the Rose Bowl, Nate Sampson, our Head Brewer at Track Town Ales, has brewed a beer with Oregon red roses.
Since the Rose Bowl is referred to as the "Granddaddy of Them All," we’ve named this special beer Granddaddy Ale. It’s a lightly hopped wheat beer with a floral aroma provided by the Oregon red roses that are added to the brew at the end of the boil.

On Draft at Rogue Distillery and Public House. Pours an almost clear golden yellow with medium sized white head. Smell is a bouquet of flowers that are slightly wilting, some spice and lavendar. Taste is delicate flowers with a nice wheat component. This a certainly a sweet beer, but more honey sweet and not overpowering. Nice and light brew with the roses being the focal point. Glad I got to try.
