pj1855 (154), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Nov 27, 2008 Cloudy pale yelllow in appearance. Light aroma of wheat, citrus and ginger. Similar taste. Light body. Did not care for the citrus and ginger combination. Thought I would really enjoy this beer but I was disappointed. RuneStumo (495), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Nov 21, 2008 01.11.2008, On tap at the Rogue Ale house in San Francisco. Aroma is malty and the beer is bitter. Dry hops. Beardface (977), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 30, 2008 Wheaty and spicy and all in all just not terribly drinkable. Of course I’m biased because I hate wheat beers, but this is my review so I can be biased! Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA Oct 27, 2008 Nice Hefe. Yellow pour with nice whit head. Aroma is spicy and all the good flavors are there: wheat malt, coriander, pepper and hops. Bockyhorsey (2487), Mesa, Arizona, USA Oct 27, 2008 Bomber. Spicey on the nose but rather ordinary. Gold body with white head moderate lacing. Wheat grain flavor with peppery spicey bitterness. Light zesty fruits in background. Leaves a pepper aftertaste on the palate. Probly a good pizza beer. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Oct 21, 2008 Bomber from BevMo. Hazy golden yellow in color upon pouring. Dry yeasty aroma with some spiciness. Smells like a Belgian of some sort. Interesting wheat ale. Tastes more like a saison. Dry and bitter, with decent spiciness. Solid wheat brew, for one that isn’t in the German style. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Oct 19, 2008 Sample from WBF in Durham. Though it was late in the day, I can still read my notes, and the first thing I said was "more Belgian than German." That must mean something... more yeasty/sugary than wheaty/banana? Less banana and clove than some hefes; more bitter and with a different yeast. Not bad. IrishBoy (2686), Bakersfield, California, USA Oct 15, 2008 Bomber from GM Liquors: Nose is corriander, ginger, and some light floral hoppiness covering a weak banana note; hazy yellow with a big, glass-lacing white head; flavor is hop bitterness, peppery spiciness, and a background vegtal note; finish is lightly bitter.
