Though it was late in the day, I can still read my notes, and the first thing I said was "more Belgian than German." That must mean something... more yeasty/sugary than wheaty/banana? Less banana and clove than some hefes; more bitter and with a different yeast. Not bad. IrishBoy (2705), Bakersfield, California, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 15, 2008 Bomber from GM Liquors: Nose is corriander, ginger, and some light floral hoppiness covering a weak banana note; hazy yellow with a big, glass-lacing white head; flavor is hop bitterness, peppery spiciness, and a background vegtal note; finish is lightly bitter. dmtroyer (409), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 8, 2008 22oz. Pours a hazy yellow/orange with a white head. Nose is mostly spice with coriander, ginger and banana coming to mind. Body is like eating a mouthful of lemon zest, mostly bitter and grainy herbaceous flavors. Mouthfeel was also a bit soft. This beer had no complexity and little redemptive features. I am thinking I may have had a skunky bottle and plan on re-rating this brew. I am also confused as to why they say this is "In the belgian style" but call it a hefeweizen. Chia (42), Bristol, Rhode Island, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 8, 2008 pours quarter inch head that was bubbly and disappeared quick. cloudy orangina-like-color. smells of wheat and bananas. tastes like wheat and spices. citrus undertones. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2008 Pours a cloudy yellow with a soapy white head. The nose is biscuity with lemongrass and not much else. This is beer is completely characterized by the duality of fruity esters and dry, biscuity wheat. The ginger barely comes through and the corriander is hardly detectable as well. The body is thin and the finish is short. This is a nice refresher with a zesty finish, but nothing to marvel at. ucusty (1881), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

Pours near-clear golden with creamy white head. Minor lace. Weak nose with slight spice. Mild wheat, citrus and spice flavors. Not their best effort. biznizness (934), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 20, 2008 Hefeweizen? Um, no. This is too clear, too bitter, and lacks most hefeweizen characteristics. Decent beer, but totally missed the mark.
