GuilTTy (527), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA Jun 21, 2008 Bomber (MoM) from trusty Canal’s in Princeton, NJ. Mildly hazy sunflower yellor supporting a three finger frothy white head. Not much lacing. Sweet herbal aroma with an undercurrent of banana esther. The beer tastes more like a blend of traditional hefeweizen and pale ale. THe hefe flavor profile is there but it’s just a bit too modest. Nice rich mouthfeel and clean finish with a touch of hops at the end. Not a bad brew but not really up to Rogue’s normally high standards. cdog3 (3), USA does not count Jun 20, 2008 The Beer poured Golden and very clear with a fine white head that held on for a long time. It had a strong aroma of those cheap yellow butterscotch candies that overpowered almost everything else. The mouthfeel was thin and the butterscotch carried through in the flavor and drove in to a bitter finish. I love Rogue’s beer, but this is not their best effort. kevd193213 (477), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA Jun 15, 2008 22 oz bottle. Yellow cloudy pour with nice thin white head. Lots of carbonation, which surprised me for the style. Aroma of lemongrass and bread. Taste of ginger spices, lemon and a faint bitter finish. blutt59 (2042), Dallas, Texas, USA Jun 11, 2008 bomber, pours hazy yellow orange with soapy head, has a nice malty bread nose, good spicy flavors of wheat and lemons, smoothly finishes as well ukoolaid (572), Amherst, Massachusetts, USA Jun 10, 2008 Bottle. Pours a cloudy light golden with medium white bubbly head. Aroma is herbal and spicy. Taste is spice (coriander), lightly hoppy, and a little citrus. Nice summer brew. willblake (2160), Belcamp, Maryland, USA Jun 9, 2008 20080609 Bomber labeled MoM hefeweizen. Hahaha Rogue, you thought you could trick me putting this one on the shelves and forcing me to pay twice for the same rebadged beer but NO! Joke’s on you, Rogue, I never bought your silly Half-E-Weizen because I have no idea what that name is supposed to mean. Whatever. this stuff is borderline decent. Sharp astringency on the finish is not welcome nor a good match with the undeniable Rogu-i-ness of this beer. I should’ve saved the five bucks and bought two bottle of Paulaner. Snojerk321 (1917), San Diego, California, USA Jun 9, 2008 22oz bottle from BevMo Mission Valley. Light golden with a frothy white head. Mild aroma of flowery saaz hops. Taste includes some spicy citrus from the coriander and ginger. Light bodied with a medium level of carbonation. One of the best American wheat beers I’ve tried. Very similar in style to a witbier. FunkyBrewster (437), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jun 8, 2008 Pours a hazy yellow, not bright at all. Aroma is fruity and sweet. Quite mellow, not overpowering at all. Flavor is sweet apricot in the start and some hop notes in the finish. Also a little bit of spice comes through with some sweet honey flavors that linger. Medium bodied. A nice example of a wheat beer that isn’t too overwhelming for those who don’t want that strong fruit flavor.
