Hank1980 (734), Athens, Georgia, USA Jun 1, 2008 Great label. The beer was alright. Poured a cloudy gold. Aroma of wheat, yeast, and a little spice. Taste was similar with some of the spice becoming more pronounced, with ginger being the dominant one. Also, some lemon coming through. Finishes a little dry and spicey. Mouth was fairly carbonated. SDalkoholic (1186), Chula Vista, California, USA May 24, 2008 Bottle from Holiday Wine Cellar. Upon the pour, I started to become disappointed since I could tell this was a very simple beer. Typical aroma of light and crisp notes of yeast and minimum smell of grassy wheat. Created a glowing yellow hue while showing a shadow of hazed sediment. Actually quite subtle and refreshing but seriously lacking a strong back bone of any flavor since the balance between the malt and hop are dead on. In the finish, however, there is a slight reminder of ginger and coriander but not enough for me to make this a repeat beer. nuplastikk (1161), Madison, Wisconsin, USA May 18, 2008 22oz bomber. Light golden straw color. Lots of ginger and herbal character, with a wheat backbone and a yeasty creaminess. A sort of hefe-hybrid. Lemony and tart. A quality beer, but lacks some depth of character. xcrunner1 (9), Hudsonville, Michigan, USA does not count May 16, 2008 Aroma of citrus and spices and it pour out of the 22 oz/ bottle a cloude golden color. I was craving a wheat beer, but this had a weak flavor with some spices. I can taste the yeast somewhat. Overall, it is not what I wanted at the time, but would be a nice crisp summer brew. JohnnyJ (1283), Carlsbad, California, USA May 16, 2008 A nice american take on the weizen style. Wheat, bread, spice, sweet malt, floral hops, lemon zest, and coriander. Nothing spectacular, but tastes good and is easy to drink. radagast83 (1273), Fairfax, Virginia, USA May 11, 2008 As "Mom Hefeweizen", 22oz. Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is wheat, citrus, lemons. The flavor is subtle citrus and yeast. It’s a lot more bland than I initially expected. SSSteve (2049), Atlanta, Georgia, USA May 11, 2008 a dark cloudy gold pour with a medium sized creamy white head. somewhat drab aroma with notes of lemon and coriander. light bodied and crisp. flavor is light grains with touches of vanilla and coriander. i don’t notice any ginger. quality stuff but nothing exciting. thanks for sending some MUCH needed new rogue’s to georgia. thechandler (268), Morgantown, West Virginia, USA May 10, 2008 Pours an expected cloudy pale orange. Aroma is wheat, citrus and spice. Flavor is pretty great. Tastes much more like witbier than a hefe. A little hoppy bitterness. Citrus and spice. Tasty. I like this.
