ryananderson (74), Ontario, Canada Sep 18, 2005 Updated: Jun 26, 2007Aroma has some light hoppiness but is mostly of ginger. Small to average white head is mostly diminishing with good lacing. I find the flavour light and refreshing but a bit weak: light bitterness, touch of coriander. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. DarkElf (2681), La Jolla, California, USA Sep 6, 2005 (22 oz bottle: Rogue Ales Brewery in Newport, OR) Kind of a cross between a bland American wheat and a spicy Belgian witbier, the ginger here is unmistakeable, with coriander, orange citrus, mild hop bitterness and a light pale maltiness making up the remainder of the flavor. Not exactly wheaty to me, but I think that is due in part to the ginger being strong enough to mask it. Ginger is prominent in the nose as well. Light bodied and very clean and refreshing on the palate. Pale golden color, slightly hazy, topped by a small whitish head that is very bubbly and effervescent on the pour and like soda, quickly subsides to nothing. I’m not a big ginger fan, not in beer, not in food, but this beer isn’t bad actually. It certainly has been easy for me to polish off this bomber lickety-split. TheBeerOrg (1563), Kentucky, USA Sep 3, 2005 Light golden with a frothy white head. Mild aroma of flowery saaz hops. Taste includes some spicy citrus from the coriander and ginger. Light bodied with a medium level of carbonation. One of the best American wheat beers I’ve tried. Very similar in style to a witbier. Not outrageous or excellent enough to merit paying $5 a bomber, but a delicious beer nonetheless. GiBrew (171), Fredericton, New Brunswick, Canada Aug 31, 2005 Pours golden yellow, fairly cloudy with a thick froth heard. Aroma is citrus fruits, banana, yeast and ginger. Mouthfeel is very creamy and thick. Banana, ginger, yeast and hop flavours with a fairly clean finish. Very refreshing.. daboskabouter (1470), Fergus, Ontario, Canada Aug 28, 2005 Bright golden with a frothy white head. Citrusy hops in the nose, sweet malt - fresh, hint of mint - no hints of wheat. The body is semi sweet with a malty front. Nice citrusy hops - not too big, splash of ginger, finishes somewhat quickly. Doesn’t seem to have many wheat characteristics. Seems to be more of an American Pale Ale. Magjayran (1379), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 22, 2005 Cloudy yellow with a big head. Citrusy aroma. Very spicy flavor with some citrus as well. Very fizzy mouthfeel. Good beer. I wish I would’ve taken better notes. tomxcs (315), Golden, Colorado, USA Aug 19, 2005 Refreshing, but lacking -- rather bland. Needs a less-clean yeast. Aroma of lemon, very light ginger, grassy. I’m not picking up any coriander. Body is fizzy and watery. A good american wheat, but reminds me too much of an american lager. hurleymanvw (101), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Aug 17, 2005 One of my first heffes i like but now with other examples it seem kind of bland. Good color and aroma. Nice flavor with a citrus finish. Good beer for hot day.
