SilkTork (4156), Rochester, Kent, England Nov 26, 2004 June, 2003: Wow! The first Rogue to blow my socks off. A swirling dizzying Arabian dance of pefumes - pour a glass of this and you don’t need scented candles to create a seductive atmosphere. Soft, but firm mouthfeel with plenty of corners and edges to provide the thrills of a Monaco Grand Prix. This is one awesome brew out of the top drawer. There are fruits, there are waves of gentle sweetness that engulf the mouth but never swamp it, there are moments of warmth, and there are moments of meditation. And the finish dries out to a long, long, ever changing and developing bitterness. Yummy! I’m going back for more! Crosling (1854), Loveland, Colorado, USA Nov 24, 2004 Cloudy Yellow. The aroma is very pleasant and definately emphasizes the use of ginger and coriander along with spicy hops, fruits and a touch of raw wheat. Again, the spicing is very evident (ginger and coriander) in flavor but in the end, this was very light bodied and very average, but better than typical American wheat ales. Jasjin (6), Nevada, USA does not count Nov 3, 2004 Not very memorable as a wheat beer- good though. Had it traditional style in a wheat glass and a wedge of lemon. Nice and cloudy, as a good wheat should be.Overall impression positive, but unremarkable. Sparkling head. Expected bitter aftertsate. Would try again without the lemon to verify tasting. GrainBeltGuzzler (249), Goodhue, Minnesota, USA Nov 1, 2004 over all a pretty good beer, a real cloudy golden tan, a very whole wheat flavor somewhat similar to NG solstice and capital kloster weizen. Pretty good beer, love the bottle dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 29, 2004 Bottled at Sippin By the River fest in Philly. Nothing going on here. Tasted like it should be. Was a little harsh in the finish motelpogo (4394), Plzen, Czech Republic Oct 25, 2004 on tap in newport. well, i probably shouldn’t be too harsh as american wheat must be close to my least favourite beer style and, just by this beer reminding me of all the poor wheats i had in the states, i could be pretty sure i wasn’t going to like it. dark golden, vanilla sherbet and lemonade ice block aroma, very light, vanilla flavour and a bit of cardboard in the finish beerinmarch (2781), Alabama, USA Oct 17, 2004 On tap at the Eugene Rogue house. Pours a light yellow/amber slightly hazy, much more clear than most weizens i’ve had. Spicy hop aroma with some faint hints of coriander. Taste started lightly malty, a moderate dose of wheat, and with some spice kicking in and some lemon taste in the finish. Well balanced with a spicy hop finish. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Oct 15, 2004 A 650 from Smokeless Joes... A Beautiful brew really. It wasn’t listed available but with the wheat and saaz and spice flavours it became an immediate fave. Delicious wheat beer. A beautiful hazy gold with a dopple of dark brown yeast on the bottom.
