Very spicy aroma, pepper, coriander, orange. This beer is overall very much like a Belgian white, with a bit more hops, but it strikes a decent balance. Far more exciting than your average American wheat, this beer breathes life into the style, whatever style it might actually be (don’t let the label get you thinking this is a hefeweizen). Fairly sweet at times, vanilla, with hints of lemon, crackers, smooth carbonation, sticky finish. Light and refreshing. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jun 17, 2004 Disappointing. Dark yellow and crystal clear. Lacked any real yeast presence in the aroma. Overpowering lemon scent. Bland pilsner flavors. Not much wheat to speak of. Overly hoppy on the finish, and really, overall. Wakie (612), Centreville, Virginia, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 2/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Jun 12, 2004 The single WORST hefeweizen I’ve ever had. Was a step above icehouse beer. Watery and tasteless. It is rare that I’m inclined to ask for my money back, but I came very close after tasting this disaster. Rogue should stick to what it knows, stouts. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 11, 2004 Citrus, lemony aroma with moderate hop profile. Very nice. In order to get the full character of this brew, you should tip it upside down several times before uncapping it in order to get the yeast mixed in. Otherwise your first glass will look clear, almost unfiltered, while your second will look totally unfiltered. Believe me, the taste is enhanced with full yeast. Lots of visible carbonation, white head. Gold, cloudy body, when mixed.Nice flavor. Not a typical hefe (no banana or clove notes), still, more perfumy hop profile than usual and very good and enjoyable. Silphium (2124), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 10, 2004 Pours cloudy yellow-orange with a medium off-white head. Wheaty, estery aroma. The flavor is in essence an American Wheat (tangy wheat malt dominates) with light hops bitterness. Small sips reveal ginger which tends to be hidden by the other elements in bigger sips. The yeast didn’t do anything too interesting here- could be a bit more estery. Alcoholist (570), Peoria, Illinois, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 8, 2004 Hazy copper colour with a mid sized head. Aroma is wheat, malt and spices. Starts malty sweet with a dry spicy finish. Sham (1846), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2004 Flaxen pour with a light white head and some spotty lace. Hrm? It smells like marijua.. err hemp. But that just may be the blend of coriander and ginger. Interesting. The flavor is mostly ginger for the spices though. Some wheat comes in, it’s followed by citrus. Malts are really not there. Smooth palate and a refreshing finish of spices and wheat. DomiNate (123), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2004 Light hazy golden pour. First thing that comes to mind is the marijuana smell. Very strong smell. Light fluffy white head. Tastes of heavy spice and the wheat comes into play. Little citrus taste. Good refreshing brew.
