More style points. Interesting combination of flavors. Spices like coriander, orange peel perhaps, and wheat. More like a belgian wit-pilsner.

Like most Rogue products, this is heavily hopped. In this beer however, I find the hops to be detrimental to the overall flavour. The bitterness is just too much for a light styled wheat beer.

A bit too hoppy and -dare I say it- sour for my taste, but nice to look at and tasty as it hits the tongue. ’Spose I should give the brewer’s other products a chance, though.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
An enjoyable beer. not as well balanced as the Germans, but still pretty good for an American wheat. Hoppier than a typical hefeweizen. Good head.

I have a deep-rooted respect for this brewery (and their brewmaster, Maier). Needless to say, I like this beer. I don’t feel like going into a big description of this beer; I just have two words: GOOD SHIT.

UPDATED: FEB 18, 2003 The beer pours a “chill hazed” deep amber to copper color, the head preposterous in size, spumous in texture, brilliant white in color and as it erodes leaves behind a covering sheet of lace. The nose a sweet malt with a slight yeast tone also present, crisp, clean and fresh. Start is sweet and loaded with malt, the top middling, and the finish spiteful in its acidic bite, the hops stinging in their bite, dry aftertaste that is long lasting, and a fine quaffable beer.
