bitbucket (1601), Kirkland, Washington, USA Jul 15, 2008 Bomber. Pours cloudy gold with a white head that quickly descends to a ring of foam. Fruit and spice nose. Sweet and somewhat ’peachy’ wheat taste. Dry spicy, and softly bitter finish. Interesting take the wheat ale style, but I’m completely in the dark why they’ve named it as a hefeweizen.
GreatLibations (1327), Sasquatcho, Arizona, USA Nov 30, 2008 I really liked this brew complete with a superb head, spicy aroma, and a full, round texture that offers all the malty goodness I come to expect from a witbier. It’s not overly medicinal being more crisp and clean. No banana gum here just a solid example of a Belgian Wit. Wait, it’s labeled as a wheat ale. This is totally Wit. branspra (86), Arlington, Virginia, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle. Pours a large, white head with fair lacing and a hazy, light orange body. Aromas of orange, lemon, lime, pear, and tea. Thin texture with lively carbonation, short duration and no acidic taste. Disappointment as no flavor or texture for this beer. pj1855 (103), Eagan, Minnesota, USA Nov 27, 2008 Cloudy pale yelllow in appearance. Light aroma of wheat, citrus and ginger. Similar taste. Light body. Did not care for the citrus and ginger combination. Thought I would really enjoy this beer but I was disappointed. RuneStumo (158), FØRRESFJORDEN, Norway Nov 21, 2008 01.11.2008, On tap at the Rogue Ale house in San Francisco. Aroma is malty and the beer is bitter. Dry hops. Beardface (257), Eugene, Oregon, USA Oct 30, 2008 Wheaty and spicy and all in all just not terribly drinkable. Of course I’m biased because I hate wheat beers, but this is my review so I can be biased!
