changeup45 (566), Orlando, Florida, USA Apr 22, 2008 This beer is horrible. Pours a very murky peach color with a head that evaporates right away. Aroma is of slight orange and ginger but more clean than anything else. Very soda or seltzer like carbonation and sort of tastes like it too. There’s some coriander and some weird spice which I guess is the ginger or maybe that’s the saaz hops but more than anything else it is bland, carbonated like hell, and tastes like a screwed up orange juice that has been sitting on the counter for a couple weeks. Here’s a case where I wish I didn’t have to buy a 22 oz bomber to sample a beer. A small tasting would have been just fine.
Chrism86 (78), Melbourne, Australia Sep 5, 2008 Updated: Sep 6, 2008Pours hazy yellow/gold with a small white head. Aromas are a touch saison-like, citrus and spice. Palate displays more of the same, big spice presence (coriander, ginger stated on label) seems to lack trademark bubblegum yeast characters of the style, not necessarily a bad thing. Finishes slightly sour from the wheat. Not traditional, but pleasant enough kassner (146), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 4, 2008 Had this beer at Three Sons but it was poured from the top, pretty clear so that might account for no noticeable coriander, ginger or yeasy lemons. Some Koelsch like odors, fairly clean bitter finish, doughy flavors but too much carbonaic acid. rustychiles (436), Mesa, Arizona, USA Sep 4, 2008 Pours a hazy yellow with a small white head. Aroma of wheat, yeast, citrus peel. Flavor is wheat, yeast, orange peel, ginger, lemongrass. Easy drinking, low carbonation, refreshing on a hot summer day. The coriander is very detectable and bittering in the finish. Interesting take on the style. Stew41 (876), Caulfield, Australia Sep 3, 2008 Lifted but positively fruity nose. Some bitter spices to taste along with a bitter finish and what seems to be a less than subtle hop impact. Not wheat beer as we know it and a long way from the ext book. leninthedesert (110), Nevada, USA Aug 30, 2008 Cloudy, hazy golden pour. Initial flavor is bitter citrus (peels/rinds). Spice lacing comes forth as the taste develops, but does not seem to compliment the initial taste. Seems disjointed in this regard. Finishes light and watery. Not Rogue’s best effort.
