This is a nice sessionable Hefe. I don’t think it is overkill on the spices, it seems to be just right.

Now I really liked this beer, but I also like anything that’s a hef. I would definately buy it again. The hook for this beer is that it’s brewed with rose petals. I don’t really appreciate that myself though. That is to say, if roses taste like they smell then I didn’t taste it. But I’ve never eaten a rose so maybe they taste like something else. Regardless it tasted like apricots and oranges.

Bomber from Sam’s, Durham. Pretty inviting pour, vigorous carbonation and a deep gold. Nose is soft and dry, bracing rather than the glove-slap of American spice adjuncts. That and the taste are pretty muted and understated, but that’s actually a positive in the case of most beers in this style. Just a touch of spice to meld well with the dry hops. Not bad.

I had this at Global Brew. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap in Newport. Golden with tiny white head. Scent is bananas and whaet. Taste is big on wheat, low on fruit.

22 ounce bottle into signature pint glass, no bottle dating. Pours hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense bright white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Light spotty lacing clings on the glass. Aromas of lemon, pear, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity; fairly weak on strength as expected. Taste of pear, lemon, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness. No bitterness; with lingering notes of pear, lemon, apple, coriander, ginger, clove, wheat, light pepper, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a short bit. Nice balance of malt, spice, and fruity ester flavors; with a good amount of flavor that is not watery at all; and zero cloying flavors present after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a lightly creamy, smooth, and fairly crisp mouthfeel that is good. Alcohol is well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a good witbier style. Good balance of malt, spice, and fruity ester flavors; and very smooth to drink. A pleasantly enjoyable offering.

Pours cloudy golden with a small white head. Sweet nose and flavor. Banana, wheat and coriander. Medium bodied.

pours a really carbonated huge head pale yellow beer. Aroma is really not good, medicinal, funky, nyquil-esque. taste is actually better than aroma, sweet, ginger really comes through, perhaps to much. palate is prickly which matches the flavors but not the style. overall this is not great and even without regard for stylistic intents and categories this is a confusing mash-up of bracing flavors.

Sample on tap at Bières et saveurs (Chambly). POurs clear golden with tiny white head. Aroma: bananas, malt, hops, wheat. Taste: wheat and malts, not very fruity. Medium bodied and carbonation. Refreshing.
