Pours deep reddish to coppery brown with small off-white top, min lasing. Aroma - complex malty, intense nutty, sweet. Taste - minimal sweet, light bitter from darker malt, a bit sour end, interesting flavor. Seems quite dry finish, medium bodied, deep fermentation, thick texture, soft carbonation, bitter dry aftertaste.
Interesting beer, nutty indeed, dry palette, but it’s a bit boring, well brewed but nothing to desire so a bit too average.

Bottle date: Rogue don’t care, so neither do I!
A: Pours a brown ale with a single finger of fine peanut head. Then I notice excellent clarity with blazing red where light comes through. The head falls to a solid sheet of the same. No lacing.
S: Nose is of hazelnut and pancake batter. Some hints of brown sugar and light malts. Simple, straitforward, nice.
T: Hmm, nice and roasty, dry and nutty. Slightly bready with sweetness. Again, simple and straitforward, nice.
M: Medium with moderate to hi carb. Dry finish.
O: Well done beer. Not much of a Rogue fan, but this is good stuff. I recall having this several years ago and really digging it, but didn’t think that memory would serve consistent. Right on.

Bottle shared by Bobo, thank you! Aroma nutty. Complex malty character, I am not able to discern much more. Clear deep ruby brown colour. Taste is initially cocoa, chocolate. Nutty. Rather sweet, but has subtle balancing roasted notes. Finish quite long in duration. Dark chocolate. Moderate body.

Pours a brown color with a medium tan head. Nose is roasty, caramel and hazelnut. Aromas are roasted malts, chocolate, with a discreet but quite enjoyable hint of hazelnut. Slightly bitter finis. Well-balanced beer. Love this.

Sicuramente è una ottimo esperimento, perchè al naso si sente davvero la nocciola, però ahimè secondo me in bocca tradisce un pò, forse perchè avendola bevuta on tap non era in grande forma. Non mi ha convinto...

Bottle from saveur-biere.com. Red/brown slightly hazy body with small beige head. Aroma is hazelnut, hazelnut and hazelnut. Great! Some toast, caramel and chocolate in the background. Taste is similar, dominant hazelnut, with some more raisin, earth and a subtle roastyness. And although there almost is no bitterness (just very little in the finish), it isn’t too sweet. Greatly balanced! The mouthfeel is medium, oily, with a good carbonation and a smooth toasty and slightly astringent finish. Quaffable, unique, very good!

Smells like a nice beer. Homogenous appearance throughout. Nice brown color. Taste is complex. One of the best browns I’ve ever had. Palate similarly complex and rewarding. I found this beer in a 750 mL bottle at my local Costco. Good beer to give as a gift for sharing and celebration. Would not drink a whole bottle in one sitting myself.
