Fabulous aroma reminiscent of my grandads biscuit jar! Flavour follows which is the hazelnut but given I’m no hazelnut expert, I’ll stick with my grandad’s biscuits (rip). lacks a bit of weight and fullness or roundness. Lovely flavours and not OTT. Bonus points for Grandad memories....... jcr (1146), Jasper, Indiana, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2009 Bomber. Dark brown body with a light brown head that doesn’t stick around. Nice aroma of hazelnut, caramel, toast and herbs. Notes of flowers. The flavor is heavily sweet and lightly bitter. The sweetness drops somewhat in the finish, but the bitterness kicks up only a notch or two. Medium body with a watery texture that is a bit sticky. Lively carbonation. Distinctive brown ale with a dominant hazelnut taste. A bit over the top on sweetness for a brown ale. Still, an enjoyable, tasty beer. ScottB (73), Bristow, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 16, 2009 Perhaps my palate isn’t refined enough to pick up the hazlenut aroma. I get coffee and dark chocolate on the nose. Ditto in the mouth with additional hints of caramel. Dry slightly bitter finish. SorenE (111), , New Zealand

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 15, 2009 Pours a dark almost coffee brown. A very nutty and sweet aroma. Very flavorful beer, with notes of syrup and hazelnut. The sweetness of the beer disappears quickly leaving a good slightly bitter aftertaste. l1br4r14n (275), Washington, Washington DC, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 14, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a thin head. Huge hazelnut syrup flavor all the way through, nearly covers up any other flavor. Also some sweet malt and vanilla, the finish has a strong burnt flavor. Tastes a lot like Cracker Jacks. Not very enjoyable. Alasdair (76), New Zealand
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2009 Aroma of nutella on wholemeal toast, with a tocuh of mily, sweet coffee. Lightrt mouthfeel than I was expecting, but lovely flavour of nuts, caramel and chocolate. Luckily the bitterness saves it from being snickers bar - a balanced finish. skmikeg (72), Poway, California, USA
