(Knoxville Brewersí Jam). Pours reddish brown with a beige head. The aroma is caramel and a bit of butterscotch. The flavor is just a bit on the buttery side, but boasts brown sugar, hazelnut coffee, and just a touch of salinity. Smooth.

UPDATED: JAN 15, 2006 Pours a reddish brown with a one finger head that quickly recedes to a thin ring, with mild lacing. Smells sweet, nutty, mild chocolate, and roasted malts. Taste was some chococalte, hazelnut, caramel, with a sweet malty finish. Color me crazy, but this reminds me somewhat of a dopplebock when it gets a litte warmer. This one goes down very smooth, with only a touch of bitterness.

tastes like Postum-flavored soda, burnt root beer, earthy, charcoal and dirt, canít find the hazelnuts unless they toasted the shells . . . light bubbly mouth feel, not frothy, but weak and insubstantial, incandescent and tinny aftertaste of smoke and fish, weird tingly head rush .

Rich, creamy, almost tastes like im sipping on a root beer or something. Browny and a little stinky, kinda like my underpants looked the morning after this. Donít be afraid, however, its one of the best that I have had yet. Thin palate, needs a little more meat to it. Nutty aroma, and a smooth "Don Steele" type of aftertaste. Cheers!

This dark brown ale poured with a short tan head, eliciting a malty aroma. There is a slightly carbonated mouthfeel and a chocolate malty flavor with a slightly bitter hoppy finish. A very nice brown ale.

Aroma of roasted barley and nuts with a sugary sweetness toward the end. Dark brown with hints of amber and a medium sized tan head. Huge hazlenut flavor overwhelms the palte from fore to finish. Tastes like Coffee Mate Hazlenut Creamer in a weak cofee. It does however taste good just overpoweringly one dimensional and not very beer like.

Had a sweet roasty hazelnt nectar aroma. Brown body and decent head. A decent creamy rich nut flavor appeared in the middle. Otherwise I would of thought this beer is just a medium bodyied nut somewhat watery beer. .

UPDATED: JUN 10, 2008 Had this again on tap after some time apart. Itís a pretty pour with a deep brown color and a tan head. The nose packs plenty of sweet, though roasty, hazelnut scents. Hazelnut is right up front in the flavor, but itís adequately smoky to keep things from being annoyingly fake. Soy sauce, chocolate, and nuts make up the flavor basically. Itís a shade too sweet to be completely exquisite, but when Iím in the mood for a sweet beer, this does the trick. Again, plenty of smoky, semi-meaty flavors are present to keep this from being one dimensional or cloying. Itís a nice beer.

Bomber at Pisa Pizza. Itís been a while since Iíve had this one. The nutty quality is more out of hand than I remember. Pure flavors of nuts are all over the place on this one. Itís not bad, it actually imparts a nice roasty, chewy quality to the entire brew. Sometimes this walks the line of being too sweet, but itís not bad. I often think of brown ales as having a nutty quality, this one takes it to the next level.
