650ml bottle. liquorish aroma with a hazelnut undertone--very pleasing. The palate is sharp and carbonated, just like I like it. Taste has definite hints of chocolate and hazelnut and is refreshing. Overall, a very nice brew.

Smelll the malts in this one. Good finish, very smooth. Great taste and a wonderful feel in the mouth. Very flavorful for a brown ale. Not my typical. Good brew by Rogue.

I tried this beer on October 10, 2008 aftyer purchasing from one of my local LCBO outlets. The beer poured a translucent very dark brown, with a creamy, tan coloured head. The aroma was dark malt, muts, and chocolate. The mouthfeel was medium bodied, with medium carbonation. The flavour was roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, some hazelnut, and some hops. Nicely complex

650 ml bottle. Pours a clear reddish brown with a decent tan head. Sweet malt and hazelnut aroma. Hazelnut and chocolate are prominent in the taste. Hint of hoppiness but fairly subtle. Nice creamy mouthfeel. Quite drinkable, does not come across as being 6+%.

22oz bottle. Pours a see through, bright ruby brown body with a fizzy, light brown, finger-width head that dissipates slowly and remains lightly laced and swirly. Aroma is mainly sweet dark malts. Very nutty and malty. Some roasted and toasty grains, hazelnut, caramel and toffee, and a bit of dried fruit. Flavor is very clean. Sweet malts and a roast backing with lots of nuttiness, sweet hazelnut flavoring, and vanilla. Finishes smooth and creamy with a faint roasty bitterness that lingers with a touch of hazelnut. Soft, full bodied, and again...clean. Overall, I love this beer. Its straightforward and definitely nothing exceptional, but the combination of a sweet vanilla-hazelnut balancing with a light amount of roasted grains is delicious. Its even better on tap.

Brown pour with a thick head. Malty, vanilla, chocolatey aroma. Pretty smooth and drinkable flavor. Hazel nut extract gets a bit overwhelming. Finish is very nutty. Good, but not great.
