A definite nutty scent, very earthy. Taste is creamy smooth with a hazlenut flavor on palate. Reminds me of a dunkel I had, has that musty earthy feel. Another fine brew from Rogue Ales but not my favorite. Atlove (36), USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 23, 2008 Rogue Hazelnut Brown Nectar pours a dark copper-ruby color with a medium tan head. The flavors of hazelnut and roasted malt are really nice, and so is the finish--sweet and nutty. There’s something metallic and artificial though, which restricts me from giving it a higher rating.

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 17, 2008 Bottle, nice dark brown color. Big head, three fingers. It slowly disappeared but it was a creamy color. I can smell the hazleut a little bit. Flavor of malt and hazlenut, some other spices are thrown in as well. Taste like some chocolate also (cocco powder). This beer was good but nothing extraordinary. Pwn3d (1052), Manhattan, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 13, 2008 750ml bottle. Dark brown with a hint of red hue resembling a deep stained wood. Nose if chocolate and malts. Although pleasant i didn’t pick up on much hazel in the nose. Taste is very nice, a bit smoky with earthy malts, cocoa powder, and chestnuts. Smooth with a bit dry finish. Very well done brown ale, highly drinkable. johndavidj99 (123), Township, Maine, USA

Aroma of roasted nuts and alcohol. Thin bodied with hazle-nutty and wood taste. Thin and easy to drink a lot of! A tiny dry and bitter finish.
