Flavor is the same, with some roastiness and faint hop presence making an appearance. Too much hazelnut for me. kevd193213 (486), Hope Valley, Rhode Island, USA

Sweet, brown sugar creamy taste with some spices evident. Even finish. Not a huge fan of the style but I really enjoyed it. Gethinbeer (1001), Nova Scotia, Canada
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Jan 12, 2008 From bottle.Nutty aroma. Hazelnut brown in colour with an off white head. Rich, smooth, nutty flavour. Nutty finish. I found the beer a little soapy and too sweet. Got sickly towards the end. Sounded like a promising ale but I didn’t enjoy the beer as much as I had hoped for. dsm (109), Baltimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 11, 2008 Bottle. Pours a reddish brown, no head, a lot of lacing. The aroma is sweet, creamy, nutty, and malt. This is a very good brown ale - it is sweet but not too sweet, and the hazelnut, malt, and nutty flavors complement each other really well. It adds up to a complex but relaxed and understated brew. Headbanger (1581), Aurora, Illinois, USA

Taste of big time nuts followed by more nuts and a great malt finish. A nice tasting brew. sneagrams3 (1738), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Tasted at almost room temperature. Total nutty nose! Toasty and spicy nose. Medium bodied with tight effervescence. Spicy nutty flavors. Touch toffee. Dry finish with a lingering subtle cocoa sweet note. Toffee and fudge. Nutty brownies. Roasted nuts. Malt dominant. Hops are bitter yet short lived. Tasty! JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Pours a deep brown with a moderately thick light tan head. Aroma is very sweet and is pretty apparent about the hazelnut. Smells like a barista poured some syrup in my brew. Taste follows suit - very sweet syrupy hazelnut backed a basic brown ale malt base. Decent, but not really my thing. Slayer85 (582), Firenze, Italy
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 8, 2008 Bottled. A hazy deep brown beer with a big and quite persistent creamy beige head. The aroma is roasty and nutty, enough malty, with some hoppy notes. I feel some toasted bread too. Interesting flavour, lots of hazelnut, some chocolate. Smooth, creamy, with medium body, lively carbonation, and a light bitterness in an enough long finish. Less hoppy than expected. After all I find it enough well balanced and tasty.
