ChetLemmons (87), orlando, Florida, USA Dec 4, 2007 cloudy brown, head quickly dissipated. sweet aroma, almost like a friuty pipe tabacco. a nice balance between nut and fruit. hints of toffee and caramel. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Dec 4, 2007 From a tap poured brown with very little head. Flavor of hazel nuts, with not much aftertaste or finish. keithw (15), USA Dec 4, 2007 Bottle One of my favorite brown ales (or is brown nectar its own category?). It is as sweet as nectar, with an amazing hazelnut flavor. In fact, it tastes a bit like Nutella in a bottle, which is a very good thing. Nice malty flavor to complement the sweet hazelnut, lest you forget this is a beer, and a very good one at that! SHIG (2012), Aviano, Italy Dec 3, 2007 Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting : Poured a brownish with tan head. The aroma is nutty as well as the taste is hazel nut. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA Dec 3, 2007 pours an amber dark brown with white head. light subtle aroma, real smooth palate, low carbonation. very sweet and nutty finish, very good. Magicdave6 (5400), London, Greater London, England Dec 3, 2007 Bottle at ultimate glasgow tasting, bbf jan 04. Aroma is a nutty brown ale. Taste is similar but chocolat hints, well balanced and tasty enough, but relitivly unexciting. cgarvieuk (4159), Edinburgh, Scotland Dec 2, 2007 Bottle at Toms Ultimate Glasgow Tasting ... Yeasty malty with load and loads of Hazelnuts (i was told it was nut brown , so clearly identifable hazelnuts without knowing) little bit bitter in linger for my liking but still wonderfully rounded. smashteroid (227), USA Nov 29, 2007 Served cold from tap. Pours a nice medium brown with a slighter-darker-than-tan head. The aroma is dominated by nuts but there are also hints of malts present. I’ve always found this to be one of the easiest beers to drink, and considering the high-quality of the beer, that makes the Hazlenut Brown Nectar one of my favorite Rogue brews.
