Freshly poured while the thick brown foamy head slowly dissipates believe it or not I smell MANGOS! Im drunk and I have a damn mango tree about 20ft from my window but I smell mangos directly from this brew. Now after the head is gone and time to settle I definitely smell the hazel nut. Its so NUTTY! So smooth and drinkable matter of fact I honestly can drink this by the gallon. At 6.22% alcohol there is no trace of it. Get lost in this beverage and enjoy. Absolutely beautiful in appearance, aroma, and most importantly TASTE! My #1! Sorry Franziskaner Hefewiesse but youve been replaced but I still love you! However you know what there is no such thing as perfect so...

Pours a dark brown with a small head. Sweet malt aroma. Sweet with hints caramel and hazelnut. Rather full body. Nice beer.

Waitress surprised me with this one. I could tell by the appearance it was going to be a winner. Hazelnut very evident and aftertaste is spectacular.

Pours a dark, dark brown. Very dark for a "brown" ale, with a sandy tan head. Aroma was sweet and slightly nutty. Flavor is rich and nutty, slightly bitter, and good malt flavor with a thick, rich, almost creamy consistency. Goes down smooth.

Draught. Poured a ruby amber colour with no head. Nose of roastiness and nuts. Iinitial taste has a very fizzy mouthfeel. Roasted malts, light coffee, and clearly artificial hazlenut flavor that tastes more like cherry. Finishing with bitter hops on the palate. Medium Body. The mouthfeel really draws away from the beer.

Had this beer on 9/10/2003. Aroma is a light sweet scent, but it dose not give any hazelnut. Color is a deep clear amber with light carbonation and thin head. Taste is sweet and fizzy. Starting with medium body it goes down with a sweetness and a slightly sharp feel. Finish is a sweet fake hazelnut flavor with no hop flavor and just a hint of malt. This thing is a big disappointment for a brew from Rogue. The hazelnut flavor comes across fake and its very unbalanced. Overall you can drink it but not with a smile.

Not much aroma; tastes like milk chocolate and coffee, nice sting but goes down really smooth, kind of creamy. The hazelnut extract is very evident. [tasted next to a Big Sky Moose Drool Brown Ale]
