BlackForestCO (819), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA Aug 25, 2007 Updated: Jun 10, 2008Poured from a bomber.Poured a deep amber brown with a tan head. Aroma was dominated by hazelnuts, and smells quite nice. Taste is much the same, with initial malt hit leading into a nice hazelnut flavor. A bit sweet, but very nice. Smooth mouthfeel helps with the drinkability. Top notch brown ale. beeranarchist (184), Aalborg, Denmark Aug 22, 2007 Bottle. Dark reddish brown with huge light brown head. Nutty, malty and chocolaty aroma. Great, silky mouthfeel. Distinct, but balanced, flavour with lovely hazelnut character (and hey! I don’t even like nuts!). A slightly bitter finish prevents it from becoming cloying. zappafan99 (462), Ascension Island Aug 20, 2007 Updated: Jul 4, 2008Aroma: Chocolate, malt, hazel nut&caramel. Appearance: Deep-red- brown. Inch thick tan head slowly disappears into a ring around the glass. Flavor: Malty-nuts with little alcohol presence. Palate l: Liquid and oily. Finish: The end is the same as the beginning. Mild hop. Nice Brownie. Doon (89), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Aug 19, 2007 Served on Tap at the Yard House, In Phoenix. Poured very dark, almost black(poor lighting) with little head. This beer is great! You really can taste a hint of nuttiness...just right, not ovepowering. Nice find! BrewDad (2363), Olympia, Washington, USA Aug 17, 2007 Draft
This was a deep brown color with a thin head. The aroma was that of dark malts and Hazelnut. Loved the aroma the beer also had some great flavors this was truly a fun beer to drink. Never thought it would be this good. The beer drank easy and the hazelnut flavor was throughout but not hugely overpowering. A Great Great Beer.
