3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Matchbox, Washington DC. Cloudy dark brown color with a small, light beige head that leaves a little lacing. Mild carbonation and thin to medium body. Strong hazelnut aroma. Flavor is hazelnut, milk chocolate, caramel and sweet malts. Bittersweet malty aftertaste. Could’ve done with slightly less hazelnut extract.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours dark brown, hazy with a super thin head. Aroma has already some hazelnut, feels like Christmas, super nutty. Taste is also full of hazelnut, loads of vanilla. Doesn’t really feel like a beer but more like a spiced and chilled Christmas drink. Aftertaste is drier, lasts long. Hmm, I am actually not sure if I like this that much, bit too Christmasy for me, wasn’t really expecting this. Hazelnut does not feel very natural as well, more like the flavour I get when I put a few drops of hazelnut extract into my coffee.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
15.5.2014. Brown-amber colour, thick dense brown head. Aroma of strong hazelnut, cant get much more, maybe toffee. Palate is smooth and creamy, also lots of hazelnut, malts, some chocolate and coffee, syrupy sweetness. Surprisingly good for flavoured beer.
