Reviewed 2/20/13. 12 oz bottle into a nonic pint glass. A: Pours a dark chestnut color. The head is a one finger light mocha shade featuring a good texture, but not much retention. S: Strongly nutty - not just in terms of hazelnut, but other variants like almonds, walnuts, and pecans come through. Aromatically, it’s pretty much just peanut butter-esque with not much else to give any other depth. But that one note? It’s extremely inviting and enjoyable. T: Much sweeter than the aroma, and veering dangerously to artificial in terms of how it comes off. The flavor profile is hazelnut...and that’s about it. Decidedly one note, and that solitary note has flaws to it. I don’t hate it by any stretch, though. M: The general texture is kind of thin and even insubstantial. Despite that, there’s a lot of coarse finishing astringency that comes off slightly clashing with the sweetness and limp body. Hell, it even manages to be both watery AND sugary in its finish. Only thing it does right here is ease of drinkability. O: Not particularly likable aside from the aroma; I’m glad I only bought a single of these and wouldn’t buy it again. Having said that, it’s a good choice for hazelnut lovers - because let’s face it, the flavor is nothing BUT that. If this and Frangelic Mountain Brown have taught me anything, it’s that hazelnut beers give off great aromatic qualities...and not so great flavor profiles.

Fantastic! Surprisingly un-Rogue-like. Very mild hops for an American Brown. Interesting raisin like caramel. Beautiful hints of red! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

33 cl bottle from Boxbeers. Copper brown with white/beige head. Aroma is lots of hazelnut, fruity, spices/herbs, cardamon, cinnamon, nutty, malts. I feel like having "äppelkaka". More of the same spices in the taste, medium sweet, not bitter at all. Light body, creamy with soft carbonation. A beer for the winter or with a dessert, on its own its a bit too much of the cardamon vibe.

Brown with small pale brown head. Malt, biscuit, oat, the flavor is biscuit, sweet malt. A hint of chocolate is found in the aftertaste. Well-balanced beer.

That sweet hazelnut aroma is so intense, it feels almost solid as it creeps up your nostrils and takes hold of your brain. The taste follows up like a second assault, rich and complex, the perfect followup to the aromatic introduction. This goes right to the top of my favorite beers.

A rich beer with an excellent hazelnut taste, perfect fit to go along with a chocolate dessert

Una cerveza increíble. Color marrón turbio, sin apenas espuma. Sin rastro de carbonatación. Aroma a avellana y malta. Sabor super potente a avellana y regusto final a avellana, muy fresco. Nada empalagosa. Con textura de cerveza (en boca sí se nota la carbonatación), acuosa. Ahora, eso sí, no para tomar en cualquier momento, pero si el momento es el adecuado... aprovecha.

Another one I can’t believe I never rated before. On tap at TJs. Poured a deep amber color with a small sizded off white head. Hazelnuts, vanilla, and caramel. Personally not a hazelnut fan.

Medium brown with red hues and a small off white head. Aroma is some toffee with a Touch of medium toasted malts. Nutty sweet flavor with a short bittersweet aftertaste. Medium to light palate

Nasmaak is iets bitter.
