Bottle - dark tea brown color with a small head. Has a sugary molasses nutty caramel taste. Not very malty. Very smooth. Nice sipping beer and one of the better brown ales that I’ve had.

Lekker biertje. Door de hazelnootaroma’s bijzonder. Prima nasmaak ook. gelukkig niet al te kruidig want dat zou botsen met de hazelnoot

the hazelnut lends a unique quality to the otherwise standard fare. it;s got a good body and aroma (of a traditional brown) with the hazelnut flavor lingering on the finish. nicely done."

Carmel with back taste of strong hazelnut. Pours dark brown with no head and taste improves as you drink. My new favorite brown.

355mL bottle BB 30/12/15
Pale bronze body, beige head.
Mild aroma; crystally toffee malts, bit of milk chocolate, gets a toasted hazelnut note as it warms.
Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, smooth slightly silky texture.
Hazelnut certainly makes itself known on th palate - toasted, roasted nuttiness blends nicely with undertones of chocolate malt & caramel. Restrained bitterness leaves finish with a touch of sweetness.
Nice enough, hazelnut flavour is not over-the-top, but never seems properly integrated with the rest of the beer.

Not a traditional brown ale, but then the name should give that away. The mouthfeel and head remind me of a beer approaching a stout or robust porter. I found the beer to be very drinkable and the non-beer drinkers in my house liked their first sips. But the hazelnut flavoring does not add to the beer in my opinion. But then I’m a bit of a purist and don’t appreciate flavorings added to my beer.

Red-brown clear beer with little head and a sweet nutty malt aroma. Flavour is nutty malt with a touch of caramel and coffee. Light and mellow given its strength.
