Ungstrup (10855), Frederiksberg, Denmark Mar 4, 2006 A hazy amber beer with a thin brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of alcohol and nuts. The flavor is sweet malty with primary notes of wood, leading to a dry end. I find the flavor quite boring. omhper (10141), Stockholm, Sweden Dec 21, 2004 Bottled. Dark ruby, average head. Nutty aroma -very aromatic. Sweet and roasty with lots of vanilla and hazelnut as well as chocolate. Clean, somewhat hard mouthfeel. Pleasant, but one-dimensional, and suffering from the same syndrome that keeps many US microbrews to enter my list of top beers: simplistic, hard, clean malt character. Papsoe (9771), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 29, 2006 (Bottle 65 cl) Comes as "Rogue Morimoto Hazelnut Ale". Beautiful, clear dark brown with a creamy, beige head. Nutty, malty aroma. Very nutty, roasted accents - lovely flavours indeed. Almost no bitterness. 270106 Oakes (6793), Miami Beach, Florida, USA Jun 30, 2000 Updated: Jun 9, 2007Re-rate: I absolutely adored this beer when I first had it at the Blind Tiger in 1997 ($2/pint happy hour at that!). Since then, I’ve had little tastes and sips and none of them came close to what I remembered. But finally, a shade over 10 years later, I get around to a re-rate. Yeah, I suck. Chestnut brown, bright, thin head. Aroma is mainly a toasty-roasty dark malt. The flavour shows this as well, but brings in a sickly sweet artificial hazelnut element. The body is thin for a Rogue as is the hopping...yeah I know it’s a brown but something has to balance off that syrupy hazelnut. What the hell was I thinking...this is poor. joergen (6148), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jan 30, 2006 Bottle.
