Aroma is caramel, hazelnut, malt. Hazelnut taste is still great, but the flavors seem more bland then
they used too. Still very nice, just not 4.6 nice. Lots of caramel and butterscotch flavors, this is
a great brown, and is to be slowly drank and warmed.
Wow, very sweet. Right now I am in heaven, this is one f’n awesome beer. Way to go Rogue! This is probably the best beer I have had thus far. Slight coffee aroma, chocolate, hazelnut (well obviouslly). This is a beer to drink slow and enjoy! jeffc666 (1898), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

The beer looks good, brownish-red in color, slightly hazy, Quickly diminishing light brown head. Nutty malt aromas with subtle hazelnut. The taste and mouth-feel were the big letdown for me. Very lively carbonation, a little too much so for me. Medium bodied. Hazelnut flavors are there but they are not too big. Nutty roasted malt flavors are predominate. The hops don't really kick in until the swallow, when you get a definite bitterness. Sort of like drinking cold carbonated hazelnut coffee. iowaherkeye (1892), Los Angeles, California, USA

Pours a slightly hazy brown with ruby highlights and a slowly fading beige head. Aroma has quite a bit of hazelnuts, some bready malts, a bit of yeast and grassy hops. Flavor is much the same with some roasty malts coming through as well. There was some slight acidity toward the finish. Some sweetness noted. Medium bodied with low carbonation, smooth body. The only other hazelnut beer I’ve had was the Berghoff, and this is better--much better. Was impressed with this. emacgee (1892), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA

The head was tan and short lived and left no lacing. The aroma was fantastic, notes of floral hops and complex malt. Tasted lightly of hazelnut, light hops, and sweet malts. As close to a perfect balance as one can get. The palate was a tad thin, but nothing major. The finish was perfect too, a fantastic balance of finishing hops and malts. A fantastic beer. Very aromatic beer with molasses, coffee, pine, nuts, and a lot of hazelnut notes. Flavors of caramel, milk, chocolate, maple, and honey. Very well rounded and robust with a touch of hops. Aroma is delicious dark fruit cake, brown sugar and slight chocolate. Oh man, the flavor is the same (but not too sweet) and balanced with some just-right bittering hop on the end. Great brown-sugary nasal aftertaste like a Rochefort 10 or Chimay Blue, but the slight sugar on the tongue is balanced out well and even ends on a dry and slight sour note. Palate is medium, dry and tingly. I don’t know (or care) if this really fits the "style", but it is unlike any brown I have had, and is more similar to some strong Belgians. Awesome beer. A very nutty aroma, but slightly cardboard. Man this is nutty! Drinks like liquid nutella - nutty and chocolately. Difficult to know how much I actually like this beer - but much respect to the brewer for putting this much nut flavour into a beer. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
