Outstanding nutty flavor. However, the overwhelming sweetness made me think I was drinking soda and not beer. Albeit a damn good soda.

Oh this is great. Mahogany with a beige head. Scent of hazelnuts and a bit of chocolate - nice, and not overpowering. Flavour is wonderfully balanced between bitter hoppiness and nutty sweetness. Smooth and not sticky sweet. Aftertaste is of hazelnut that gives way to a clean hoppiness. Balance is the ideal word here - a perfect balance between sweet and bitter. One 650 millilitre bottle was enough, but that is not to infer that this ale is too sweet. I am heading off to buy a dozen of the big bottles. An ale this good should be stocked up on.

bomber bottle. Rerating ; Pours a dark clear shimmering chestnut brown ale in the mug with a puffy tan colored sticky cap which lasts and laces well. Aroma as adverized : copious amounts of specialty malt and nuts with a wisp of sweetness and grassy hop notes. Front side of this ale is a chew on big malts then a blast of roasted hazel nut and black malt roastiness is off set by a judicious amount of woody hopping...finishes lightly drying slightly bitter in a nutty-malty ambience.that lingers into the after taste. This is a nut brown with nuts!

along with Tilberg, this is my leading candidate for best brown ales. it’s smooth drinking with subtle hazelnut undertones and no hoppyness like the Brooklyn Brown Ale. I would drink like 10 gallons of this if I had a tap in my apartment

Brown with large foamy beige head that thins quickly. Strong hazelnutty caramel vanilla aroma. Taste is what aroma suggests, strong smooth hazelnut, butterscotch and vanilla that lingers into aftertaste.

650 LCBO. Typical Rogue yeast and malt profile reminds me of Dead Guy and to a lesser extend Brutal Bitter. Medium malt body, nut aroma and flavor, gets more interesting as I get into the bottle. Demerera and cream.
